‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

I agree Bomer would be great, and he is frankly my personal favorite.

As usual, I find this board's enlightened viewpoint refreshing. Bomer's sexual orientation indeed should not and does not actually matter, but Bad Bishop makes a good point; some people are going to care, and some of them might be studio execs.

If Matt Bomer isn't cast as Batman it will be a grave injustice.
Consider the studio's point of view. There are a lot of candidates to play Batman who won't be pestered by incessant questions about being gay. Bomer is not one of those candidates.

And no, life isn't fair.

Weird thing to inject into the conversation - do you keep detailed notes on which young hot actors are gay?

For record keeping purposes of course.

Wow, rather uncanny in those photos. :rommie:

Still, the traditional notion of a hero looks a certain way. Woody Allen never played Batman. And Bruce Wayne's look is well-established.

Studios have, knowingly, been casting gay actors for major parts for decades. Why would they stop now?

Bruce Wayne: Orlando Bloom
Batman Actor: Jackie Chan
Batman Voice: Kevin Conroy

Keep mask-less action scenes out of the script, and it's perfect casting.

So... which one's Superman and which one's Batman?

I would have loved Bomer as Superman, but I just have a hard time seeing him being dark and tortured enough for Batman.

Plus he just seems a little too pretty for the role.

Maybe he will take both jobs and becomes... SUPERBAT!

*edit*
Holy shit, I thought it was a stupid joke, but I googled it and the silly shit actually exists.

Meh... I guess the crossover section of fanfic authors landed some jobs at Hollywood now. :p

Just because Superman and Batman are teaming up? That's not a fanfic thing. They been doing it in the comics since 1952!

(Superman #76, to be exact. "The Mightiest Team on Earth!")

Bad Bishop doesn't care about the studio, he's just concern trolling. And his point wasn't a good one, because most people aren't bigots and enjoy Bomer's performances on TV and in movies without caring that he's gay. Many even like the fact that he's gay, and some others don't even know. Regardless, it hasn't impacted the networks or studios that hire him in any noticeable way.

Bad Bishop
frequently drops by when anything about gays is mentioned so he can make some snide remark at their expense. It's almost as if he has some sort of means of detecting gay stories; a gaydar if you will.

And, honestly, even if the usual suspects (A Million Pissed-Off Moms, etc.) tried to make an issue of some actor being gay, they have no real power anymore--and little or no impact on the box office.

I mean, there were (silly) people who were convinced that Harry Potter was satanic and those movies still made zillions of dollars--and spawned a theme park! :)

All part of Lucif…I mean, Louis Cypher's plan.

So if this did theoretically happen would that make him the first actor to have played both Superman and Batman?

And after any such duel casting had taken place, Matt can manifest different attributes of each character across different segments of his almost perfect body, which means that every time Matt in the privacy of his own mansion jerks off, just as heterosexually as any straight man might, which is a shame, because in theory Gay men should be able to masturbate better, he's actually acting out a million slash fanfictions of Batman and Superman getting to know each other's equipment before they knock boots.
