Star Trek: Starfleet Scouts in development

RDM & his writing crew did do a pitch for a hypothetical 8th DS9 season in the "What We Left Behind" documentary. Chances are slim that he would come back under any circumstances other that complete creative control, but I wouldn't write it off as a complete impossibility.

Star Trek: Starfleet Scouts in development

I don’t know…. I always kind of liked darkly-lit bridges. Gave it a kind of nautical submariner feel. I particularly liked the Saratoga’s bridge at the opening scene of TVH, lit only by the monitors they were using to observe the whale probe. I suspect it was more common in the movies because...

    For the Imperium...

They worked together briefly during the Dominion War, IIRC. Tal-Shiar & Obsidian Order. Lend-lease program? :)

He’s on that special blend of herbs and spices today.

And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Damn. That's a bummer. I would have liked to see them play out the rest of the story. Never read the books. Makes sense about the budget, though.

    The 60th Anniversary??

Anniversary = rare marketing and merchandising opportunity = happy fans = increased revenues = happy business = happy shareholders. So, yeah, that's kind of the goal for any business. Under normal circumstances I would agree. However, Paramount lawyers sometimes get cranky when fans go out on...

Star Trek: Starfleet Scouts in development

Which is honestly the principal reason it should be brought back. They likely will never do it, though. It's in its strange state of limbo floating between Netflix, Nickelodeon & CBS/Paramount.

    The 60th Anniversary??

I could see OTOY doing something cool. They seem to be the only ones truly interested in the franchise these days, above and beyond the corporate S.O.P.

Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I have every confidence that the writers of this show will figure it out, should they choose to explore that thread. They've done pretty damn good so far, IMO. If they do go that route, I would suspect that his TDY to Vulcan will involve finding a cure for his daughter in some way. What...

Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I’m kind of liking this M’Benga, though. He has some amazing character depth and backstories, compared to his woefully underused TOS version. The subplots with his daughter and Klingon War PTSD have been brilliantly done.

Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

Anyone still playing? The game has experienced some odd glitches with the events recently. About a week ago there was a server failure message popping up for the second half of the day where I couldn’t get in at all. It came back the following day with the event over and no results...

NFL 2025: A new era dawns?

Yep. Happened with the Redskins with Jack Kent Cooke (and never really recovered) as well as the Broncos with Pat Bowlen more recently. It’s almost guaranteed to affect any team negatively in a very big way. :(

Spoilers The Controversial Star Wars Opinion Thread

 Obi Wan really liked to… stretch the truth. He’s probably been working on that narrative for years while he watched Luke grow up. Probably not much else to do out there in the desert.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

True. By the time TWOK rolled around, Enterprise had been in service for a while (much longer than the 20 years that Morrow said upon their return, to my recollection), and didn’t have that fresh coat of paint like it did right out of spacedock. I was kind of disappointed that such an...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

On the whole, I would agree, however I found many of the ship sets to be somewhat antiseptic and incomplete. When Meyer took over for TWOK, he took all of those sets and made them more used and lived-in. It just felt warmer than the initial TMP set dressings.

    Set blueprint exchange

Huh…. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that one before. It has Sternbach’s signature and it’s definitely his drawing style. He really had the bridge exterior locked in, didn’t he?

The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Further exemplifying the Hollywood cliché over actual realistic portrayals. I suspect that maybe "Full Metal Jacket" came closest to being accurate in that regard, as the Gunny was always referred to by the recruits as "sir". Makes sense, too, considering R. Lee Ermey was the real deal and had...
