Question re: Kindle editions of Voyages of the Imagination and manuals

I see there is a Kindle edition of Voyages of the Imagination and the TNG Technical Manual. For those who have purchased these for the Kindle, how do they look?

TOS The Three Minute Universe by Barbara Paul Review Thread (SPOILERS)

So, I came across this old TOS novel and the blurb sounded kind of interesting (though the name "Sackers" for a race sounds a bit rubbish). Anyone read this? Is it worth a read?

DS9 / Mirror Universe Books question

OK, so the last DS9 book I read was Fearful Symmetry (ok, I read Zero Sum Game, but I mean in the DS9 MU saga). I heard one or more of the short novels in the Mirror Universe books tie-in to the overall DS9 MU saga. What are the stories and can someone give a recommended reading order? For...

    VANGUARD: HARBINGER ebook question

So, I've been thinking about converting my Vanguard books to eBooks on my Nook. But I really like having the Vanguard station pull-out. For anyone with the eBook version, is this recreated therein? Thanks.

Spoilers TTN: Synthesis by James Swallow Review Thread

I received a call Thursday from a local bookstore that my copy of Synthesis had arrived. I picked up yesterday and finished it today. I have posted a review over at my site: http://voxbomb.net/post/215892702 In short: A great addition by Swallow to the series. SecondGen White-Blue...

Warhammer 40K books - where to start?

Basically, I'm always seeing the trades for the Warhammer 40K series in the sci-fi section, and I'm curious if anyone here has read them, would recommend them, and have a good idea as to where to start? I know nothing about Warhammer 40K but it looks different from my usual, which is why I'm...

Titan: Over a Torrent Sea (SPOILERS)

I pre-ordered this from a local bookstore and got a call tonight that it had arrived. Unfortunately, this was 30 minutes before the store closed and I was in no position to go get it. :scream: But luckily, I'm off tomorrow, so after breakfast with the wife, I know where we're headed. Anyone...

Night's Dawn Book 1 - The Reality Dysfunction: Worth reading?

I was at a book store recently and saw this giant trade paperback of The Reality Dysfunction. Having never heard of the trilogy (*ducks*), I researched a bunch of reviews, which appear to be mixed. Can anyone offer any insight here if the series is worth the time? Thanks.

Titan: Over a Torrent Sea Blurb (*SPOILERS*)

SPOILERS FOR DESTINY (probably) I found this on Amazon.com, and this appears to be worded like a true back cover text (as opposed to what was in the Catalog). Very interesting...

Spoilers Destiny: Mere Mortals by David Mack Review Thread

Just finished it today and I'll have a review up in a couple of days. In short... excellent read. I wanted to put this thread up to start the discussion. A couple of points... I was digging the subspace tunnels concept and all the high-concept ideas hinted at (a race who can travel...

OT: Christie Golden Part of Next Star Wars 9-Book Series

I only mention this because of Ms. Golden's past association with Trek. But Golden, along with Aaron Allston and Troy Denning, will be writing the next 9-book Star Wars series, Fate of the Jedi. This takes place after their last series, Legacy of the Force. I'm a big fan of Star Wars books...

Errand of Fury - how good is it?

For a couple of years, I've been thinking of giving Errand of Fury a try, but haven't made the plunge. How good are the two books thus far? And an odd side-question: who's the editor of this trilogy? Thanks.

    "Saturn's Children" Question

Sorry if this has come up before. Seeing as how "Saturn's Children" is the DS9 entry for the Mirror Universe trade paperbacks, and with the developments in Warpath (which I just finished finally, and it was great), does the novel tie into the DS9 relaunch?

Sword of Damocles -- comments & opinions ****SPOILERS*****

I figured now that the book is reaching a wider audience, and some thoughts are starting in the Amazon.com / SoD thread, why not start a proper review / thoughts / spoiler thread, a la the Before Dishonor and Q&A threads. I really enjoyed this book, and I think I'll get even more out of it on a...

VOY book "Echoes" - opinions? (And other early books too)

I recently found Echoes in a used book store and decided to pick it up- it was the only numbered Voyager novel that grabbed me. Any opinions on it? And what about other early "numbered" Voyager novels- which ones were good?
