Jenna Mitchell - hey, wait a second...

Ok, so I'm dense, but I just now realized that Jenna Mitchell, the navigator... is she supposed to be the new Gary Mitchell from TOS? The one who ended up with crazy powers and tried to kill James R. Kirk? Or is it just someone with the same name?

Is this the best summer for TV?

Normally I just watch baseball during the summer since most of the new programming is garbage, but this year we have Better Call Saul, The Orville, Strange New Worlds, a solid 2nd season of Only Murders in the Building. What else has come out this summer that I should watch?

    RIP James Caan

James Caan passed away today - I loved him in The Godfather, Elf, Misery, and the original version of Rollerball. My favorite was the pseudo gangster in Honeymoon in Vegas. Thanks Mr. Caan, you gave us a lot of great entertainment.

Fletch reboot - with John Hamm

Apparently Jon Hamm has finished filming Confess, Fletch and it's supposed to be more true to the Fletch novels and less comedic than the Chevy Chase version, but hopefully it at least has the humor from the novel. As a teenager, Fletch was (and frankly still is) one of my favorite movies...

No spoilers, but there were A LOT of Star Trek references in tonight’s episode of NCIS - All Hands. It was a fun watch!

RIP Brian Howe from Bad Compay

RIP Brian Howe - Best known for replacing Paul Rogers in Bad Company. in the mid 80's, and was with them for about 10 years. Bad Co sounded different under him, but overall it was still pretty good music. No Smoke Without a Fire, Holy Water, If You Needed Somebody were probably his most...

    ST: TVH/T.J. Hooker missed crossover

Ok, so I’ve been watching a lot of T.J. Hooker since the quarantine started, and this got me thinking. In T.J. Hooker, Adrian Zmed’s Officer Vince Romano left the show after season four, in 1985. There was no discussion or mention of Romano ever again. TVH takes place in 1986, so when the...

    James Darren live

So during the quarantine, I've been listening to A LOT of music on Spotify while working. I came across a James Darren live album from 2019 called James Darren Live! For the First Time If you like Vic Fontaine, it's quite a good album, and for a guy in his 80's he sounds great. He only made...

Anyone rewatching any old shows during quarantine?

We're still working from home full time, but my wife and I are rewatching Psych, and then plan to rewatch Seinfeld. Independently, I'm rewatching T.J. Hooker thanks to FETV. Any other suggestions?

    Steve Perry is back?!?!

Browsing Twitter and saw that Steve Perry has an album coming out on October 5th called Traces. Pre-ordered on iTunes, and downloaded the first single No Erasin'. I'll give the song 6.5/10 - not great, but The Voice is back! And the guy is doing radio interviews today as well. I am a 49 year...

This Is Us - It's ok to admit that you watch it

My wife watched the first six or seven episodes of season 1 before I gave it a shot, and it's a really good show. Good writing, time jumps, and some top-notch acting; Sterling K. Brown, Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore are really excellent. Most guys I know won't admit to watching it, but I...

    You favorite post-Beatles band

Based on a discussion at work, which Beatle produced the best work in a band post-Beatles era. John Lennon really didn't have a band per-se, but he made music with Yoko, so that's close enough. I'll argue that the Traveling Wilbury's produced the best music, and I can listen to those two albums...

    The alphabet ends with Y...

Rest in Peace to mystery writer Sue Grafton. She passed away from cancer last night. I discovered her books in High School, and I think the first book of her’s that I read was ‘D is for Deadbeat’. I’ve read just about all of them since. Y is for Yesterday was her last book. She never made it...

    The Curse of Oak Island

Anyone watching this? Oak Island in Nova Scotia has been the hot spot for several centuries for treasure hunters looking for deep buried treasure from either: Pirates, The Knights Templar, the Spanish, the French, the British. You name it, someone could have buried something there. Even FDR...

    R.I.P Jack Riley

Jack Riley, know mostly as Mr. Carlin from The Bob Newhart show, but also appeared in several Mel Brooks movies has passed away. The new box set of TBNS had a round table discussion of several actors from the show, including Riley, and he didn't say much, and looked to be in pretty rough shape...

    The Muppets

I didn't see a thread on this yet, so what do you think of the new show? I've loved the Muppets since Sesame Street, and he new movie a few years ago was just fantastic; although the follow-up not so much. I like the IDEA of what they're trying to do with the new show, it's just not working for...
