James Caan passed away today - I loved him in The Godfather, Elf, Misery, and the original version of Rollerball. My favorite was the pseudo gangster in Honeymoon in Vegas. Thanks Mr. Caan, you gave us a lot of great entertainment.
Let's not forget he also played the President in "Get Smart": And back in 1969, he appeared as a villain on the original "Get Smart":
James Caan played a lot of parts in many films and TV shows over a long career - and usually shined in all of them (even when the show was....meh otherwise). And - remember who wrote for Get Smart - Mel Brookes and Buck Henry...
"Thief" and "Rollerball" are by far my favorite performances of his. I would also recommend "The Killer Elite" directed by Sam Peckinpah and reunited with his "Godfather" co-star Robert Duvall.
