"The Final Frontier" is my favorite Star Trek film. If you do not want me to say this-you will have to ban me and close my account with your service.
In fact, I WANT you to ban me tonight. Why wait? bring the Mods online. Especially the one with the supercool McCoy avatar. I like him. Let...
Just because something is generally reviled does not mean it does not have its fans somewhere. Belittle me if you want, but STV will still be a good film in my eyes and in the end thats all that matters. I waste my time trying to reach you lot. No more. You like to attack what you do not...
I always was advanced for my age. I saw STV with open enough eyes that its faults did not bother me in the slightest. I could overlook them and get down to enjoy the film. And no, it being new was not the reason. I have seen several other Trek films when they were new and still disliked some of...
I have seen "These are the Voyages" and have very little negative to say about it as a whole. I do hate that a popular character was killed off, and that the crew did not get more of a sendoff, say, with a two-hour finale. But I did like seeing TNG characters again, with one (Riker) interacting...

Save for a few isolated instances at rare points in my life, "The Voyage Home" never really appealed to me. I never liked Trek when they went back in time to the 20th century, that's not why I tuned in to watch in the first place.
We have a used bookstore here that recently closed for business, and they had a nice few shelves of Trek novels. I used to go in occasionally and pick through them looking for favorite stories. That makes one used bookstore left, along with Barnes & Noble and something called 2nd and Charles...
If memory serves, yes, the crew got another starship or something and had some offscreen comic book-only adventures before going back to Vulcan with the bird of prey again in time for STIV.
