Garbage Pail Kids on steroids. Not sure why, but most of the humor landed for me as well. I still prefer the "dad joke fest" with "Skin a Cat", but all have been fairly solid. They're definitely... warped!
No, GPK beats even the mucus episode. Even 80's MAD magazine out-grosses it, and it was in black and white. This is just boogers and microwave fish.

It was a progression of sorts. The Simpsons, Ren and Stimpy, Beavis and Butt-head, and finally South Park.
They should have a site where they allow people to submit scripts for VST episodes, then take the best ones and animate them. I can think of several of my mini-fics that I would submit.

I got a mild chuckle on some parts, which is more than I can say for multiple cartoons from my formative years, and I never got in to Ren and Stimpy (stupid), Beavis and Buthhead (doubly stupid), South Park (trying very hard to be offensive for some reason), or others.
