Nice to see M'Ress animated again after 48 years! And arguably better than in the Filmation show itself! We even see her claws for the first time. Okay, it's parody, but I'll take whatever "crumbs" are offered at this point.

This promo states there will be 4 more of these "Very Short Treks" and things will be just as weird. I mean, look at this!

Given her size and that of the "unmentionable", can we be sure that's even hers?

Peck’s voice coming out of animated Nimoy Spock works quite well.

I noticed that as well. It almost sounded like Nimoy without forcing it to become a spoof.

I don't believe that was intended to be Kirk, he's just credited as 'Captain' in the description.
Yes Spock, M'Ress and the Enterprise, but the credits just say 'Captain'. Shrug.

There's going to be animated episodes for all the live action series (and Lower Decks). Not just TOS/TAS

He was drawn to look like the actor who voiced him, comedian Pete Holmes. I assume we might see more of that type of thing.

Well, they are all Animated and count as a Series, so I figured this was the best forum to localize them in.

Although I was impressed with the TAS-style animation, I thought the script was horrible. They took one silly joke and drove it into the ground...er space?

I believe that is going to be the basic concept for all four of them.
But we'll have to wait and see.

The animation was not bad in this first "Very Short Trek", but the actual content was awful, downright unwatchable even at only about 3 minutes. Hopefully the other shorts actually have some effort put into the writing.

    I watched it without sound.
If Lower Decks can be a comedic series within a serious universe, why was this one done so over the top that it could only be somebody's dream sequence?

Ass, actually. He was there to be offended that the captain used the term "dumbass".

And I can't believe this is something I just typed on a Star Trek board. :alienblush:

Since the marketing material made a reference to these being "absolutely not canon" or whatever the exact phrasing was, I'm guessing these are all going to be in a similar ridiculous vein to the first one.

Its a bit too animated for the TAS style. Should have got the guy from YouTube to animate for them.

Three minutes of dumb fun built on the use of metaphors, colorful and otherwise, that was a TOS dialog staple.

Maybe I should try it again. I got to the point where it was looking like the whole thing was going to be about beating a single figure of speech to death, and I bailed.
