I'd watch the hell out of a Captain Worf show. It'd be terrible, but I'd watch. Michael Dorn is just goddamn delightful.

I'll admit I suffer from Worf fatigue.
I just don't think Michael Dorn in his early-60's is going to give us a character as compelling as Worf was when the character was fresh.
Maybe I would feel differently if the character hadn't been incredibly overused in the series/movies and novels.
They should do an entire show about him standing at his post behind Picard. Lots of internal dialog.

It'll likely come full circle when Dorn is too old to be a series lead. We'll have John Cho pitching a Captain Sulu series for years on end!
Since members of the Federation are different species from dozens of different planets it's unlikely they all could all serve on the same ship or the same kind of ships. These species would range from as short as Yoda (so that the whole ergonomic layout of the ship is wrong) to taller than Chewbacca (similar problem). There would also be a range of environmental settings appropriate for each species, be it temperature settings, strength of gravity, or atmospheric content. Andorians might prefer colder settings than humans would find comfortable, while Vulcans like it hotter.
With that in mind I can certainly see why any one individual ship might be either wholly or predominantly of one particular species.

Frakes pitched a USS Titan show too. I just think we will not see any TNG cast shows or films. The average age of the TNG cast is 61. The time for a Titan show would have been 10 years ago. But if the suits didn't want to do it then, why are they going to want to do it now?
Of course any or all of them could make an appearance in a Prime Universe show or movie, if one is ever made, which I doubt. NuTrek is what's on the table now.

Yeah. Much as I have liked Worf or Sulu or Riker, not a one of 'em was ever gonna be in the running to Captain a new series.
But perhaps Michael Dorn could pull a Richard Hatch and see about producing his own fan-fiction Worf Trek pilot to pass the time.
I could see an Admiral Riker in a role similar to Admiral Ross in DS9 or Admiral Forrest In ENT. A recurring character but not the center of the show. Captain Kim would be fine in principle. Garrett Wang, at 45, is the right age. But he is not leading man material. I just don't see him in that role.
ENT has the youngest cast, not surprisingly, and a 2160's show could have some of them feature in the main cast of the show. You still have 2 of them under 40yo and 4 under 50.
So you have have the 2160's, the 2390's or the NuTrek 2260's as decent possibilities for shows that follow on from what has come before. Anything in the 2390s will be predominantly a new cast, with some appearances from the TNG/DS9/VOY characters. Worf is certainly a possibility for certain episodes or story arcs. But not the series lead.

I dont get how age matters, picard was suppose to be 59 in the first episode of tng.
As long as the cast is complimented with youth it doesnt matter.
Granted most competent actors have no interest in relieving star trek.
The only one I can think of is brent spiner. However playing a nooneign soon is far better choice for him.

It will be the other way around. The aging stars of the previous shows will compliment the new cast. Even then, as secondary and recurring characters rather than being in the main cast. If we ever see the Ent-E again, for instance, I suspect a new Captain (40's at most) and a whole new cast.
The TOS movies tended to push the limit of plausibility when it came to age. DeForrest Kelley, god bless him, was obviously frail at the end and Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig had long aged out of their parts. They were too old for their ranks and positions.

I agree with a lot of the posts here. We've seen enough of Worf across TNG and DS9. His story arc came to dominate both series. He was cast out of Klingon society, redeemed, cast out and then redeemed again and inbetween there were countless episodes focused on him. Also the Klingon's themselves drifted more and more into the realm of silly caricatures and lost whatever fierceness and fear factor they had. I don't want to go back to Berman era Klingons.
A new TV series is needs to do its own thing and not be hampered by what came before and personally I wouldn't care if they just did a cold reboot at this point. Berman Trek is dead and its not coming back in any appreciable way. At the most we may see a cameo or two from TNG characters.

Worf has had his time, as a rather dominant character on TNG and DS9, with a nice ending to his arc--as the UFP Ambassador to the Klingon Empire (anything seen after this was a horrific nightmare that should be ignored due to the lack of explanation or sense).
