And finally, we actually see some spirits wandering around again. Interesting that so far they've only appeared in Republic City and at the Northern Air Temple; they seem to be connected to the airbenders. The only people we've seen bonding with them are Bumi and Jinora.

I wonder if Koh the Face Stealer is out there. He's pretty dangerous.

Argh I hate that guy. He deserves to have his soul dissolved by Korra.

Just caught up with the most recent episodes and i still love this season and can't find any fault unlike with season 2 which was so so in my opinion.

While i watched the fight between Lin and her sister i thought how aweseome that would like in live action with the appropriate budget (and a good story as opposed to the Aang movie we got) - and give Gia Carano some supporting role or even the part of Korra as she was the inspiration for her.

Really looking forward to the rest of the season and what they will come up with.

Oh man, I forgot about Koh the Face Stealer! They totally have to bring him back! Maybe the Book Four villain? It would make sense. The odd numbered seasons have human villains, the even have supernatural ones.

Honestly, I don't get why fandom makes such a huge deal over Koh. The more people build him up into this ultra-important arch-nemesis that we HAVE to see again, the more turned off I am by the hype. Maybe there's another story to be told there, and I can understand why people are curious about the gaps in what we've been shown, but that doesn't necessarily mean the character is worth building a whole season around. I mean, ooh, he steals faces. Weird, but not earth-shattering. And Aang was able to beat him just by not changing facial expression -- which doesn't really make Koh seem like that massive a threat.

I don't want to see a season built around him either. I'm just curious about how the world deals with dangerous spirits possibly walking about.

I don't know what they have planned for Book 4 but so far, they've done a good job of upping the stakes from Amon's movement, to Unavaatu to Zaheer getting personal. Koh would indeed be a step down. What we need is a person and/or ideology that's a threat to both the avatar and the balance of the world.

I read somewhere that Books 3 and 4 are more closely related. Guess we'll see.

It wouldn't surprise me if their family ended up back on Kyoshi Island. I think that would probably make the most sense given the two characters' backgrounds.

Or maybe they founded a whole new city made entirely out of meteorites and boomerangs.

We know that Sokka became chief of the Southern Water Tribe and a member of the Republic Council, though presumably not at the same time (unless he left a regent behind in the South to chiefify in his absence). It doesn't seem likely that he hung around on Kyoshi Island.

Maybe they had a long distance relationship.

Or he had a really long commute.

My assumption has been that they both lived in Republic City while Sokka was on the council before retiring to Kyoshi Island. That or Sokka passed away in Republic City and Suki moved back home with any children they may or may not have had.
If they'd gone back to the South Pole you'd have thought that part of the extended family would have figured in the civil war last season.

Well, honestly, enough time had passed that there's no reason why they couldn't have lived in all those places at one time or another.

It seems obvious that they eventually settled in Republic City, but they could have easily lived in the South Pole and Kyoshi Island before that happened.

Well yeah, all we know for certain is that Sokka was living in Republic City some forty odd years ago when Yakone was outed as a blood bender and was a water tribe Chief (not specified, but southern is a safe bet) at least as recently as 13 years ago when Zaheer made a run at infant Korra.

I think my point was that if Sokka's surviving family (i.e. Suki and their children, assuming there are any) had eventually settled in either Republic City or the South Pole then they'd probably have cropped up by now. The logical assumption is Kyoshi Island, but really, they could be just about anywhere else. Again, if they even exist at all.

That worked out for Clone Wars when it was released on Netflix. An entire season ready to watch. I'd like that.

Or the creators of Avatar can shop their show around. Sell the rights to Cartoon Network or Disney. Both would broadcast and rerun the hell of those shows.

EDIT: I just found a story on IGN and apparently it is doing badly in the ratings. I guess I just assumed since a lot of people here, and on a lot of the other sci-fi/fantasy sites I go to really like it, that it was big hit.

It is. The show started with 4.55 million viewers and now it's down to 1.33 million. Have a look.

Which is a situation Nick brought on themselves by rushing the season to air without any promotion to speak of. This is bizarre and ridiculous.

Maybe this was Zaheer's real plan: to take over the network and force them to take the show off the air.
