The Legend of Korra: Book 3

I don't remember the episode that clearly, but I don't really remember Suyin doing anything that bad.

Do we know that Suyin has hidden the truth about something?

It didn't seem that way, but I definitely got a sense that she has her own way of doing things. She may not be as hard or callous as Lin, but I get the impression that she is just as stubborn.

- Sure enough, Lin's behavior does make sense now. I'm satisfied.

- Toph looked pretty youthful. She must have been in her early 50s there.

- How did Zaheer know that Korra was with the metal clan? Has he been practicing a special discipline? Looks that way and I suspect that this will play into what he has planned for the avatar. More on this at a later date.

3x07

- Fans have raised concern that we haven't seen much of the spirits. Now we have and they're living peacefully among man like dandelion seeds floating in the air.

- A female air bison has horns?

- Military training was actually pretty amusing. Reminded me of Stripes or some such. And that shaved head did come in handy.

- Can't have Jinora get her tattoos just yet because then she'd have to shave her head.

The last few episode titles...

3x10: "Long Live the Queen" (Aug 1)
3x11: "The Ultimatum" (Aug 1)
3x12: "Enter the Void" (Aug 8)
3x13: "Venom of the Red Lotus" (Aug 8)

I'm a bit annoyed that Jinora's only 11 and good enough to be considered a master.

So shaving is supposed to work wonders for airbenders. I don't recall seeing Avatar Yangchen or any other nuns with shaved heads, only shaved foreheads for tattoos.

The season finale is titled "Venom of the Red Lotus"? Is Zaheer supposed to be a jilted ex-member of the Order of the White Lotus or something?

Why? She's a prodigy -- what's wrong with that? I mean, Azula was only 14 (yep, even though she seemed older) but had mastered firebending techniques that were beyond most adults. Not to mention Ty Lee and her chi-blocking expertise, also at 14 -- and Toph inventing metalbending at age 12. Avatarverse girls are precocious!

Another thing... I found it funny that they got the armless woman to take the wheel when they got away in the truck. They did that on purpose so that we could talk about it.

And let's not forget Bosco. Poor Bosco.

Really enjoyed both episodes.
It was nice getting to learn more about Lin & Suyin's background, and we even got an appearance from Toph. I love it when they bring back characters from the original series, but I'm glad they're not doing it constantly. By spreading the appearances out like this, it makes them feel special. They would lose something if they did it constantly. Have we see all of the main characters from A:TLA now?

So far I think we've only seen Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, and Iroh. No mention of Suki or any of her and Sokka's descendants, which seems odd.

You'd think there'd be a whole family like Tenzin's. Perhaps they were both childless for some reason, or maybe Suki died young? Or maybe they just all moved back to Kyoshi island?

No sightings or mentions of Azula, Mai or Ty Lee as far as I'm aware.

I hope the Earth Queen is taken out at the end of this... She's the type that should end up with her head on a pike or something. For what she's done to her people, the baby bison... and BOSCO!!! She must pay!

ETA: I'd love to see Azula as an old lady and Mai and Ty Lee as well. Ty Lee as a gran-gran would be fun!

Or maybe they broke up. They were only teenagers, after all. ;)

Blasphemy! ;)

Yeah...I want them to be together, too!

It wouldn't surprise me if their family ended up back on Kyoshi Island. I think that would probably make the most sense given the two characters' backgrounds.

Or maybe they founded a whole new city made entirely out of meteorites and boomerangs.

While nothing earth shattering happened in these two episodes I still enjoyed them a great deal. I was very interested in Ling's backstory and seeing Tenzin dealing with training airbenders was great fun. I was hoping that he would have made Bumi the new drill instructor and he stepped back for more spiritual instruction.

Awesome to see Adult Toph, of course! And finally, we actually see some spirits wandering around again. Interesting that so far they've only appeared in Republic City and at the Northern Air Temple; they seem to be connected to the airbenders. The only people we've seen bonding with them are Bumi and Jinora.

We know that Sokka became chief of the Southern Water Tribe and a member of the Republic Council, though presumably not at the same time (unless he left a regent behind in the South to chiefify in his absence). It doesn't seem likely that he hung around on Kyoshi Island.

Maybe they had a long distance relationship.

Or he had a really long commute. :p

I wonder if Koh the Face Stealer is out there. He's pretty dangerous.
