‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

I haven't seen much stuff with Doomsday, but he doesn't seem to be that interesting of a character on his own. He strikes me as the kind of character that would probably work best as the muscle for another villain.

Maybe Superman will solo Doomsday the way he did under Ed McGuinness

In his original appearance that's all he was, since he was created with the goal of being able to kill Superman. The later stories fleshed him out and explained how and why he became what he is, and I think they've done some interesting things in certain adaptations.

One of the most criticised aspects of MOS was the climax, which many, myself included, saw as just an orgy of CGI fisticuffs and destruction in downtown Metropolis. It's hard to see how involving Doomsday would improve any on this.

Besides, if the movie is to introduce Lex, Batman and Aquaman, with the last 2 allegedly being initially hostile to Kal-El (not to mention Wonder Woman, Alfred and others, such as Holly Hunter's as yet unnamed character), the addition of Doomsday will make for a very cluttered film.

I'm willing to bet Doomsday will be used as a Justice League villain, if he is used at all. Bleeding Cool is known to fan the flames of rumors and their sources on seeing models of Doomsday are unconfirmed. IMO Doomsday will be used in Justice League.

Well I think a huge, knock-down, drag-out battle between Supes and Doomsday might work perfectly fine-- as long as they can avoid destroying another city and toppling tons of buildings in the process.

Maybe have most of the battle take place in the desert or in a shipyard or something instead.

He has. The most recent incarnation to do so that I'm aware of is this one.

Meh. Still comes down to slug fest. Luthor just used his brains to get more brawny.

Meh.

You should read Superman Red Son by Mark Millar. Luthor manages to beat Superman with one sentence. It results with Superman giving up his role as Superman and ruler of the world.

And we got to see President Luthor.

Good Kal didn't land in Nazi Germany.

IF Doomsday is in the movie, I have a feeling, it will be Luthor who created him and he will be unleashed for the 3rd act... and we have more CGI slugfests.

Hopefully, this is just a rumor and nothing more.

Second best Luthor story ever. The first being the novel "Superman, Last Son of Krypton."

So Batman is going to be horribly murdered in the third act then?

There is no way he can survive if the film ends up in another CGI fest that ended MoS :p

^ Sure he will. Batman has essentially become "Bat-God" over the last 15 years. He has a strategy for victory and survival for every situation.
