‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Speaking as a curmudgeonly old DC fan, I would have loved it if they had called it World's Finest...but that was never gonna happen. That title means nothing to a mainstream audience, and like it or not the studio HAS to open things up to a mainstream audience. If they just catered to us nerds, they'd go bankrupt and our current Golden Age Of Comic Book Movies would come to a grinding halt.

Did Avengers mean anything to mainstream audiences?

The Avengers Initiative had been mentioned and built up in multiple films, including the first Captain America film carrying the subtitle The First Avenger, so by the time The Avengers was released, yes, it did mean something to many people in the mainstream audience.

I'm a longtime DC fan as well, but I can't say I ever found anything terribly compelling about the title World's Finest. It was just the name of the comic book to me, and I never really took it seriously as the official name of the Superman/Batman partnership.

So the fact this movie isn't using it doesn't bother me in the least.

Speaking of Supergirl, it's a shame it looks like the new movie won't be following through on that story at all. There was the open pod in MOS, and Goyer's story for the prequel comic that heavily involved her, which makes me think they were originally planning to do something with the character in a sequel.

But with all the Batman and JL stuff going on it's likely there just isn't any room for her anymore. Bummer.

Taylalala, love your avatar! Who is that?

Taylor Swift. The \S/ stands for Swift! :bolian: ETA: Or Swiftie :p

I have to add Taylor may be 23 but she could be a great Supergirl/Kara.
Of course she could be. Kara doesn't have to be a ten.

Is she actually wearing the outfit, or is that photoshopped on Helen Slater's body?
Helen Slater was 21 when she played Supergirl in the her movie, and Laura Vandervoort was 23 when she started on Smallville, so Taylor Swift is actually the perfect age.
