I don't quite get people not getting how discussion forums work.
Indeed!
I don't quite get people not getting how discussion forums work.

Political topics are discussed here - all the time. Quite loudly and vociferously. The forum is called The Neutral Zone and it's a forum you have to actively go looking for and choose to participate in. You have to adjust your personal account settings to enter the Zone.
If a poster is a newbie they may or may not know it exists when they join the board.
Well, it is first and foremost a Star Trek forum. Whether or not you think there are topics to discuss, Star Trek is the main draw. The Neutral Zone exists as a political, hot-topic forum, but it's not the focus of the board.Political topics are discussed here - all the time. Quite loudly and vociferously. I seem to have found it, I would think that the people who run this would like everyone to know it was there. It would probably help to keep more people who see this place as boring on their first few visits.

Hmm, wait until you've been there. It can be pretty good, the debate is very informed and at times thoughtful, but it can be dark, angry, lkoud and bitter. Much like Game of Thrones, I guess. So you have to be prepared for people to be harsh with you. Say stupid things and you will be called out on it, it's that simple.
Asie from that, have fun and knock yourself out.
That's what I don't really see the point of, Star Trek has been off the air nearly 10 years now. And the last movie came out last year. It would seem that any discussions on Star Trek have already been done. I was looking through some of the discussions and they all seem to be the same conversations over and over, or "Caption This" type of thing. Unless a new series comes out, as the Q said, it's all been said and done.
One day the Transwarp Poop Nacelle Masturbation thread will be born in an orgy of furiously stroking monkey porn gifs. The archived Sombreros and Blue Warp Nacelles are the only reasons to keep this message board alive.
