Things you DON'T want to see in a reboot...

As far as Spock just being Average, wasn't he called The Best First Officer in the Fleet?

But, yea, there's also, the time he said he neither craved nor ran from power, it's simply a tool, so, it seems he might not specifically pursue the top job.

I do NOT want to see ANY crossovers!!!

BUT ... I DO want to see previous STAR TREK actors in a reboot, in other roles. Let's keep our Family employed and entertaining us, just the way they should.

Just no. I want the best actors possible, not retreads that I've already seen numerous times.

Seriously, I don't want to see another decon chamber.

Or Vulcan touchy feely half naked "meditation" techniques. Or stone faced "hot" female characters.

No?

:guffaw:

Gold!!! Literally!!!

Excessive technobabble, JJ ditched this successfully, TV Trek can too.

No kids

No cute robots

Shouldn't be overly dark. Otherwise it's just any other scifi show.

Seriously T'Pol, next time you need someone to pop the zits on your back go see Phlox

We know Spock didn't graduated at the top of his class at the academy, because Lieutenant Valeris was the first Vulcan to be graduated at the top of her class.

It's also implied in TOS. Nobody knew about Spocks pon farr thing. If he wasn't the first, then why?
After the event of Amok Time, I prefer to think that pon farr was still an unknown. Kirk and McCoy learned something very personal to Vulcans, what did they do next, start telling people or keep quiet about the whole pon farr thing?

I hope for quiet, Spock is their friend.

:)

If they were committed to shooting it this way, they should've had Jolene's arm resting on the back of a seat, or something, so that her forearm was angled across her chest, with her hand relaxed. It would've looked so much better. Also her forearm wouldn't be perfectly steady, nor would her body posture, so that the amount of boob you actually saw would vary slightly. Honestly, if I was tasked to set up a shot like this, it never would've occured to me to use a hand bra. Cupping her tits like that would be acceptable, say, if she had a wardrobe malfunction in front of a lot of people - it might even be funny! But as it is, the scene is unintentionally funny and not sexy, at all ...

Yes, but that's not the point he was making. Spock could still have been an exemplary officer without being the top graduate in his Academy class.

Of course in the prime universe it isn't clear if Spock went to the academy at all, there are other ways to become an officer.

:)

^^ It's never stated in any episode that Spock was the first.
Thank you. I could never remember it being said, but couldn't definitively state that.

Because Vulcans have a very "Victorian" attitude towards sex (both parties involved just shut their eyes and think of Vulcan :)). Its necessary for the continuation of the species, but its not something they discuss openly--even Tuvok seemed uncomfortable discussing the matter a century after TOS.

And would anyone be comfortable discussing their sex life with Paris of all people - makes death by pon farr not look so bad?

Zombies - I do not want zombies in a reboot.
Except for the tribble zombie they had in STID. But no more

That's going to be the big bad for NuTrek 3: The Search for More Money! The universe is going to be laid waste by zombie-Tribbles, they already eat everything in sight but now they can't die and are developing incredibly high levels of intelligence and British accents. The zombie-Tribble threat will enrage the Blingons, sending them into a bloodlust which will see them lashing out in every direction, including Starfleet, threatening war!

The list would be long but here's a few:
-Cold war relics. The political structures of ST is too much NATO/USSR/China, for example. Time to move on from that
-Space lakes. Space has no up or down.
-Outdated science/bad science. Ditto for tech.
-Cliched scifi tropes.

I remember this. Wasn't this an episode of DS9?

I do not want to see THE NEXT GENERATION rebooted. OK? Because it's just ... it's just perfect! A Classic. Leave it the way it is, as a stellar role call of some of the finest actors in show business, at the time, including Sir Patrick Stewart and Oscar Winner Woopie Goldberg. This series still has legs. Its stories are still applicable today, with its warnings about the folly of war, for example. And the need to be ever-watchful over our Civil Liberties. TNG stands alone. So, don't reboot it, unless you want Gene Roddenberry spinning in his grave. (Hint: No, we do not want that. At all.)

As most people seem to be a bit fed up of klingons vulcans romulans etc, Wouldn't it be cool do to a series about the Breen or Tzenkethi, I've not watch ENT yet so I don't know If it's covered there but It would bring out some new races and possibly make the series a bit more fresh...
