There is no such thing as posting too much! This board has seen some of the greatest spammers - err... I mean of course industrious posters - of all time
I recommend the Redshirt Lounge. Lounge moderators are traditionally the nicest Mods on the board (no offense to the Misc mods) and the lounge is a great place to make friends. Quite a lot of the people I met there have become real life friends of mine.
Misc (this forum) is also a good place to hang out and make new friends. Another of my favourites is the Science and Technology forum. We have some very interesting discussions there that sometimes oscillate between rows and teasing but there never are any hard feelings plus people there are good (and patient) at explaining.
