Eh, even the "fluff episodes" for this series can be pretty good. It looks like a Darryl/Beth episode bringing them closer back to the group.

Doesn't sound like this one will.

It IS a little weird that they're spending at least 5-6 episodes just getting everyone back together. Pacing is a continuing good/bad thing with this show, but it's generally forgivable IMO if they end up actually DOING something besides wander around.

Which means, if we spend this half of the season getting everyone together at Terminus and then we find nothing burn a burned out, zombie-infested camp, everyone will be coming away with a REALLY bad taste. Like Season 2 farm bad.

True! Although if they switched to diesel, I was under the impression it would last longer. Anyone know how long? It seems like I asked this before and I don't remember the answer.

It *can* last longer than gasoline but to do so it still needs additives and other treatments, just sitting around in car and fuel-station tanks isn't going to do much for its longevity.

Doh! i knew i should 've mentioned that! I was thinking the nanites were too -- they preserve the dead, why not gas?

With a reduced budget, we shouldn't expect a world like Will Smith's I Am Legend (which i guess also suffers from the same gas problem)

I don't remember where I read it but they said that by the end of the season the whole group won't be together, there will still be a few wondering about. Dunno if it's true or not

If that's the case, then S4 really WILL be the S2 redux, with more action and less whining. Plot-wise, the first half of this year was a re-tread of the last season, ending with another assault by the Governor and his followers but this time losing; and now we've spent the second half of the season so far just wandering around.

Now, this season has had great character moments on the part of pretty much everyone, but in terms of OVERALL plot arc we really haven't gotten anywhere... Yet?

Okay, just wondering whether there's any more plausibility there. At least for another year or so of screen time.

But even if there was, the group would have to specifically search out diesel vehicles instead of what we've seen; i.e. whenever they need a new ride, they just climb into the nearest car and hope it turns over.

Season two's last three episodes were hits: from Dale's death, to the end of Shane, to an entire episode of the living vs. walkers--and the tension-filled aftermath, I found it more satisfying than most of season 3.
