And another transporter design by Eric Henry. Still in process.

Interesting. I like the more tactile approach to the design, and, again, the marriage of styles from both Enterprise, the JJ Abrams films, all as the "middle child" predecessor to TOS.

The more I see about this project the more intrigued I get, I too am digging the marriage of design styles be them intentional or by chance.

Wish your web developer a speedy recovery, from another who works in the industry the website is yet another top notch part of this production and I look forward to seeing how everything moves forward!

Thanks! Much appreciated. Eric Henry is putting out great stuff. And Aaron is recovering and doing well. Updates on our Facebook page (about Aaron and Axanar).

Wishing all Star Trek fans everywhere a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

May you all have a wonderful time with family and friends!

I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving with Rob Burnett, of Free Enterprise, and a Producer on Star Trek: Axanar, his lady Adrienne and a great group of people. Rob and I talked Axanar late into the night, and I can say it is wonderful having such a talented, deicated film maker and Star Trek fan to work with.

2014 will be a big year for Axanar, and a lot of amazing other things are going to be coming from it. So stay tuned all.

Alec

Ah, Rob. I know him too. He's a very nice guy. Met him at Jeff Bond's birthday a few years ago, and knowing his predilections when it comes to Trek, it makes perfect sense that he'd be on board with Axanar, as it's so far been presented. I guess it really is a small world after all!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the idea is to release each vignette and then when all have been released, they will "stitch" together as the completed film, Star Trek: Axanar.

I could be mistaken. That info could be out of date or the production might have changed its mind about how it plans to release the film. Or it might still be the plan.

EDIT: I think this is the article I read.

The goal is to release the first "bookend" vignette (set shortly after the events of "Whom Gods Destroy") in late 2013. The rest of the Axanar "web feature" will then be released as a series of webisodes starting in late 2013 and run through 2014. In all the goal is to have around 10 (or so) webisodes add up to a web feature of 75-90 minutes by the time they are all released. These will be followed by another post-script TOS era "bookend" vignette.

Yeah, like the casting tidbit in there. If they get who they say it'll be a great coup...

will the vignette entitled "heroes" be shot at the same time as Axanar or will it be shot after axanar?

Forgive me Matt, I don't often check this board out anymore. Best place to get questions answered is Facebook. We will also have a new forum up soon.

But filming the vignettes is dependent on a few things, mostly actor availability. Right now, we may film them either at Phase II's June or Fall shoot.

As Axanar has moved along, so much has changed, and the level of the production has notched up bit by bit. That has meant delays in production (for all the right reasons) and just a lot of re-prioritizing.

The vignettes are still very important, so just stay tuned.

And thanks for your support.

Thank you very much. That interview is here:

It was fun as it was the first Podcast I did with Richard Hatch, who is so very fired up.

Richard was also my first acting coach 20 years ago and I am back in class with him now. It really is wonderful working with him, as he is an AMAZING teacher.

Thanks for sharing that link, Alec.

Some questions:

Is Rod Roddenberry now also associated with your fan film? Or was his intro just for TrekFM alone?

-So it was James Cawley's idea for you to play Garth of Izar in "Origins" ? You were offered the George Kirk role too?

-According to you, Garth is now fully recovered and back in service as of "Going Boldly." ? Does this mean we might see him on Phase II again? What is the context then of Garth's appearance in "Going Boldly" -- if Phase II is doing TOS Season 4, it seems awfully unlikely that Garth not only would have recovered but also be reinstated and given his own command in such a short time. How is Phase II addressing this?

There are a lot of big ideas discussed here; if your script matches the bravado here, Axanar will surely be quite the epic. I hope it will live up to the hype!

One thing I do like it your unfettered and unabashed enthusiasm - it comes through loud and clear here, and that's actually a good thing to see/hear.

I am proud to announce that Michael Hogan, Colonel Tighe from "Battlestar Galactica" has joined the cast of Axanar as the Enterprises first Captain, Robert April.
