Arrow - Season 2

We just barely saw the accident at the end, so I'm sure there'd be plenty of room for the pilot to replay and flesh out the scene.

If you didn't know who he was supposed to be, you'd probably be wondering what happened to that kid who got hit by lightning last episode....Did he die or something?

I think it's pretty much a given that The CW is going to pick up and air the Flash spinoff.

As for what happened with Barry at the end of tonight's ep, I'm pretty sure it was written and filmed BEFORE the decision was made not to use Arrow episode 2x20 as the backdoor pilot for the spinoff and instead give it a full standalone pilot ep.

The mask fits Ollie quite nicely! :) All these superhuman elements in the plot are reminiscent of SHIELD episodes featuring the Centipede Project. Sometimes I get them mixed up. Agent Coulson ought to show up any moment to investigate Ollie.

As for Barry Allen, is it the lightning that gives him superspeed, or does the explosion at STAR Labs have anything to do with it?

What a great episode. Might be my favorite of the series yet.

Bennett looks way better with the eye patch than Hogan did. But I really hope the Deathstroke mask from season one wasn't just an Easter egg. I want to see full-on Terminator.

Barry's stuff at the end was fantastic. I'm totally with sojo if they don't go ahead with the pilot.

Assuming they do, I suspect EBR might pull a Charisma Carpenter. Her popularity would be a good boost for the show (if it even needs it). Then maybe have Pays play her mum? This would also allow for Lotz to be added to the main cast.

^ I don't expect so, honestly - they made a point of showing us the announcers's name is Linda Park, and his whole "I know how you feel" to Felicity about Oliver was while she was on the TV.

I missed the first 20 minutes, but that was great stuff.

Linda is into Barry's nephew.

Barry isn't old enough to have a nephew.

Eventually, Linda is going to strenuously rob a cradle.

I am so glad that they are bringing superpowers into the mix here. I hope that they can possibly blend the new DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe) into the new DCTU (DC Television Universe) for a full fledged DCLAU.

I doubt that will happen SG. To smart a move. I will be happy if there are several loosely entertwined shows on the CW that create a shared universe. Arrow is a great start, hopefully Flash will add a second. I wouldnt mind a female lead in another series but as to who?? Star Girl maybe as she would skew towards the young female demographic, Power Girl comes to mind but her origin would need serious reworking, Hawkgirl would work for me as well.

Green Arrow is famous for social commentary. Berlanti, where the hell is my social commentary? The Queen family needs to go broke ASAP, so I can finally get my left wing socialist superhero!

PS, the kid who plays The Flash is awesome.

Wow, great episode. I'm wondering if what happened to Gold at the end means we'll get a full on zombie Grundy later.
The reveal with Slade was great, I did not expect that at all.
The ending with Barry was pretty great too.
Roy doesn't have superpowers in the comics, does he?

I am really interested to see where they take Roy's superstrenght. At least the wait is only about a month instead of a whole summer.

I loved everything about that episode, even the cheesiness of finding an open box of rat poison lying around

I really liked the casual nature of Shado's death as well, usually in those situations either something happens to prevent it (I was expecting Slade to come and rescue her) or it's built as a really impactful thing but here it was just, 'boom', she's dead.

I also liked the three ghosts, and how the third one was Tommy, nice to see him again!

Was the three ghosts thing an intentional Dickens reference, this being a Christmas episode and all?

So Tommy was the ghost of Christmases yet to come... Holy shit, they're bringing back Tommy! :guffaw:

I was a little surprised when Ollie gave Roy CPR without any Mouth-to-Mouth action. Such a missed opportunity for fan(-girl)service!
