And yet then they also sometimes use technology that seems futuristic even for us. There's been a running cyborg subplot for 2-3 seasons now. It's kind of a running joke on the show that there's no real way to know when it actually takes place.

While not strickly a comedy, I always thought Quantum Leap had its funny moments.

Good comedy is of course subjective. What one person finds fun ny another might not.

"A Boy and His Dog" is arguably a black comedy . . ..

And, of course, there's always "Time Bandits." Not to mention the "Bill and Ted" movies.

(We start listing time-travel comedies we'll be here all day!)

The Austin Powers films should count.

Lee Marvin? Do you maybe mean James Coburn in the Our Man Flint movies?

I remember Ice Pirates, that was funny.

I only watched a few episodes but TV series Lexx had some funny stuff like when the Stanly character was hired as a fluff guy for a porn movie.

My best friend has suggested Hyperdrive starring Miranda Hart. I have never seen it myself.

Starring is an exaggeration. Miranda plays third officer hopelessly in love with the Captain played by Nick Frost (Simon Pegg's bud.) who really hasn't noticed her infatuation.

    It's oh-dear-funny, not haw-haw-funny.

But there's only 12 episodes, so if you power through, it'll all be filed away in your brain before you start to get ill.

The Beeb would have been better off making 12 more episodes of Red dwarf rather than Hyperdrive. But alas that didn't happen.

The beeb did make another 12 episodes of Red Dwarf.

Hyperdrive fizzeled out years ago, but they're still making Red Dwarf.

The last BBC Red Dwarf was made in 1999. Hyperdrive came along a few years after that.

To dirty foreigners, all companies broadcasting in Britain are BBC.
