‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

^Certainly works for me too.

I think they'd be wise to sound out a variety of opinions but I do hope Millar's isn't given undue weight.

However the problem with his comics like TDKR, All Star Batman and Robin which feature other DC heroes is that Miller writes every other hero not Batman to be incompetent or ineffective. Batman > Everything; when Frank Miller writes the story.

He's the GODDAMN Batman! That's why!

^ The Goddamn who?

He also let Metropolis get totally destroyed in his fight with Zod! He's a menace! That's what Luthor's saying in all those tv ads!

As taste of things to come.

Barring PIS. Bats will be overwhelmed by Supes with little effort.

Missing page Batman snarls at Superman. Superman glares at him and raises his fist. In a reprint of the comic extra pages were added. To show the result.

What Superman fans DO NOT WANT in a MoS Sequel

"You know how you're kindly iffy on that new Superman movie, just wait until they pit him against Batman, who most people like!"

I really hope they don't go the kryptonite route in order to bring Superman down to Batman's level. It's just such an obvious and played out move by now.

Since we've seen in MOS that Superman can be weakened by changing the air he breathes, maybe Batman could come up with some kind of poisonous gas instead, or find some way to filter out the yellow sun's energy that gives Supes his power.

Anything but freakin kryptonite.

But just why the hell should he? They are on the same side.

Well yeah, obviously I'd rather they didn't fight at all, but it's obviously going to happen whether we want it to or not.

Personally I don't really buy the idea going around that Batman will see him as some kind of city-destroying "alien menace". He might see Supes as being a little too reckless in the way he battled Zod, but it should still be obvious to him (as to the audience) that the destruction would have been a whole lot WORSE if Superman hadn't stepped in at all.

As in, no more humanity whatsoever.

As has been pointed out, it's commonplace in any fictional team-up or crossover of heroes for them to start off at odds and end up on the same side. Think of Thor and Iron Man fighting in the Avengers, Wolverine butting heads with the X-Men (not forgetting his cameo in First Class), even Picard and Sisko in the pilot ep of DS9. Cliched yes, but if Batman and Superman meet and are immediately 'OMG, you're like my new BFF!', it'd be a bit boring.

Exactly. Part of the thrill of seeing your characters meeting is to play the "who would win in a fight, Frankenstein or the Wolfman?" game.

That's practically built into the DNA of teamup stories. :)

Heh, Nolan's Batman has no Moral Authority to judge others on their city being damaged by their fights with Foes

I agree, Picard should have had to fight Kirk first, before they fought Soran together.
