Apparently I'm not qualified to comment on it if I don't see it.
Even though from what I've read, I don't like the story. It's the story that counts.
I sobbed folks. I sobbed embarrassingly hard.... I did that loud snorting intake of breath where snot gurgles back into your throat....I walked out of the theater shaking.
Been out for 1.5 hours.
WIll collect my thoughts and post more.
Perhaps when it comes to very negative comments on a Trek board yes, in any event basher or gusher comments coming from people who have never seen the movie, are basing their comments on pure emotions one way or another.Apparently I'm not qualified to comment on it if I don't see it.
It kinda felt like Iron Man 2

Let's put the shoe on the other foot, let's say you see a movie that you like, but somebody has seen the trailers and knows the plot, but has not seen the movie, and says they don't like it and it sucks.
Would you not admonish that person to first see the movie then make an INFORMED opinion ?
That's a little harsh, IM2 has to be the worst summer blockbuster I've ever seen. I think if it had the amount of talking and courtroom scenes as IM2 a lot of people on here would've liked it betterIt kinda felt like Iron Man 2![]()
I actually thought the opposite, it moved at such a fast pace which was completely opposite of IM2.
4. Oh yeah, we managed to cure death... I'm surprised they weren't throwing Khan a frikin parade at the end!
5. Oh yeah... we can also beam anywhere in the galaxy now apparently... why do we need ships anymore?
Because transporters don't help you keep the balance or fight off the Klingons, Romulans or whoever else, when they come for you with their fleet.
And because you need starships and their facilities to explore unknown regions of space. You can't keep beaming people blindly hoping to hit a habitable planet.
Question - when they arrive at Kronos we can see what appears to be an exploded moon in close proximity. Is this a result of:
a) Nero's attack against the Klingons in ST09;
b) Overmining, caused by fear in the wake of Vulcan's destruction, causing Praxis' environment disaster to come 30 years early;
c) Canon cock ups by the writers causing Praxis' environment disaster to come 30 years early.
^ While valid examples, were any of those three examples ones that could have been used en masse to prevent people from dying? It seems to me they were rather specialized cases.
A repost to pick the collective forum brain...
