I know that Praxis is a Kronos moon, but is that debris that we see in STID really the remains of Praxis? Could be, but who knows.

Wouldn't surprise me if the destroyed moon is somehow connected to Nero's rampage through Klingon space when he was finally escaping instead of exploding 30-40 years later as it was supposed to.

There was no record of a John Harrison until one year before the movie. The point being that Khan couldn't steal the identity from someone who didn't exist.

    "Punch it!"

Honestly, if Orci & Kurtzman avoided all TOS catchphrases, people would say, "They missed a perfect opportunity to throw in some TOS catchphrases here."

Not only did he steal John Harrison's identity he WIPED John Harrison from all the records. All of them. That's why he was so familiar with the archive that sat atop Section 31, because he was in there wiping.

If they know Khan's blood can resurrect the dead do you think they'll just revive Khan every so often to bleed him and resurrect a few people. Or will it go the way of kironide, the cloaking device Kirk and Spock stole, the Organians - revolutionary discoveries that disappeared after each episode.

They should clone him and remove the higher brain functions of the clones so they are just meat machines used for making magic blood.

And it makes you wonder if Khan tried to revive his wife after she'd been killed by Ceti Eels.

Yeah, Chewie, punch it! One of the really original catchphrases of Star Trek 2009.

    That's completely different.

Perhaps people might reflect on that later, but nobody is going to be taken out of the movie by the lack of cribbed lines and scenes from a different movie, which is one of the big complaints about this film.

    I completely agree.

I predict Star Wars VII besides having the trademark "bad feeling" line will also contain a trash compactor scene, a hand cutting off scene, someone falling from a great height screaming "noooooooooo..." and the villain saying "I care" at a terribly awkward moment. And that's just in the prologue.

Oh god, I hadn't even thought what might happen if JJ takes this route with the SW movies

Being direct sequels though, I suspect they might not suffer the same fate.

I know you're speaking in jest, but after two Star Trek movies full of gratuitous name dropping and catchphrase quoting, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what JJ Abrams Star Wars movie will look like.

Soooo... I knew I had made a prediction about Star Trek XII and I thought it was a really good one and I saved the link so that I could gloat when my prediction came true.

Technically speaking, "Punch it" was already in ST:TNG. Anyone remembers from what episode this is and who's giving the order:
"Half impulse until we clear the nebula, then punch it up to warp 9." ?
