Boston members are you all OK?

I know we have a few Bostonera here, are you all ok after the bombs? Hoping none of you are among the injured/killed.

Yeah, really hope everyone is doing okay out there. If you guys could check in when you can that'd be appreciated.

Thanks for asking. I'm okay. I was working from home all day and found out about the explosions through an email from management-- all it said was that anybody who needed to try contacting relatives in the Marathon could do so. For a few seconds I just thought that it was an odd message, then I thought, "Oh, fuck," and turned on the TV.

I don't know anybody who was running this year. At least I'm pretty sure I don't.

I was a mile away, trying to get home from the Red Sox game. It took us a while to get home.

Perfectly fine here. I avoided all public transit on the way home. I didn't want to take any chances. Thanks so much for being concerned, folks.

Here, fine, angry, so sad. I work about a mile or so from Copley and left as soon as I heard. Saw a lot of runners heading back to their hotels. Lots of blank, shocked faces.

I'm sure my fellow Bostonians will agree that Patriot's Day is the best day in the city.

It's a weird experience when something like that happens so close..and you're basically just expected to stay at work. Most of us just spent a lot of the time checking the news and checking-in with friends/family.

All good here. I normally go to the Sox game and enjoy the day, but ended up having to work today, so heard about this from there. Have a few family members that normally run the marathon, but thankfully they took this year off...

I'm good. I was about a mile away, at work. We went to donate blood after work let out. It took some creative doings to get home. Normaly, I take the T as a few of my coworkers do. We arranged for family to pick us up. We didn't trust mass transit and that pains me.
Patriot's Day is a celebration in this city. Now we'll have this awful memory. I'm praying for all that were injured and for the three that lost their lives.

Was working in my office downtown a mile or 2 from the scene when it happened. The city is on lockdown now. I live outside of town and am glad to be home.

Just curious, how far is Fenway from where the explosions happened. I thought Fenway was kind of on the outskirts of town, but I haven't been to Boston in years.
