'The Sandwich'

Fan 1: Why was this episode called The Sandwich? There were no sandwiches in this episode!

Fan 2: Lame.

Fan 3: Actually, if you pause the episode at 15:04 you can clearly see a sandwich sitting on the Tardis control panel.

Fan 1: Oooooh.

Fan 3: It must have some deeper meaning.

Fan 2: Maybe River put it there. Maybe its her sandwich.

Fan 1: What does it mean? Will Mofatt ever explain?

Fan 3: Clearly, it means The Black Guardian is returning!

Fan 2: No, The Rani!

I dunno, I feel like the title may eventually come to mean something. If the "bells" are the TARDIS's phone ringing, then somebody/something had to make that happen. It wasn't just a random shop girl that gave Clara the phone number; something set this all in motion.

Well... yeah, obviously. :p Some random shop girl wouldn't have the TARDIS' phone number and the script wouldn't have drawn such attention to it if it wasn't going to be resolved, nor would it specifically point out we don't know what the person looks like for now, meaning it's probably someone we know, IE River or Rose or someone else.

I hope it's Ace :).

But, if it's Rose, then it is a random Shop Girl ;)

I was most annoyed that the phone in the Tardis Door was a desk phone. I don't care if looks different from "The Empty Child" but it's supposed to be wall mounted. Just looks dumb otherwise.

Some real Police Boxes had a similar type of phone.

^ Awesome photo, I don't think I've seen that one before. Even has the St. John Ambulance badge on it!

I'm tempted to drag out my copy of "The Empty Child" and compare phones.

Really the only thing that bothered me was the phone cord. How long was that thing?!

It's the same length as it was in the Pond Life short, as he was using the phone while clambering about on the Police Box roof then...
Maybe the Master fitted it: he's got a history of fitting the Doctor's phones with long cords.

Good episode. I enjoyed it. The chemistry between Matt and Jenna is great. I really like her. She's beautiful and sassy, and a worthy replacement for my dear departed Amy. The Great Intelligence, played by Richard E Grant, was a nice touch. I also liked the book written by 'Amelia Williams'.

Anyone getting a little annoyed at some of the episode titles that have little to do with the plot?

Such as "Let's Kill Hitler"

What next. "The Doctor steps into the TARDIS"

I know I'm a few days late, but can we actually get a Doctor/Tardis episode? I don't remember many episodes in the new series where the Tardis was featured that much, other than The Doctors Wife (I think that was the episode, it was the one that Neil Gaiman did) but other than that, all the episodes take place on Earth or some other alien planet. I would love to see the Tardis featured more than it is.

I want to see what the significance of the missing years in her book mean. Her other lives each took up a year, one crashed on the Asylum world, the other as a Governess. I'm curious how the book and its title fit into all this.
