Looking great as usual. :) I'm curious to know how far down does the lower bridge deck go into the deck 2? Could you make Cross-Section view showing that detail? On Franz Joseph's plans there is a very thick line it looks to be double plus normal thickness with a slight indent indicating the lower bridge level. The Cross section shows that deck 2 has a flat ceiling from bow to Stern. From what you are showing us you are very close to achieving that. :techman:
It would be nice to have a human figure in a Starfleet uniform for scaling purposes but I won't hold you to that :)
I'm always very impressed with what you are sharing with us.:)
    Keep up the fantastic work.
I'm looking forward to the finished plan views and other details :D

The problem with the bridge deck comes from using McMasters for the detail to finish out the Bridge. Trying to reconcile the two wound me up with a slight dip in the ceiling. Couldn't tell you off the top of my head how far it intrudes; but, if I had to guess, I'd say 8 inches or so. It doesn't present any real problems so far; so, I haven't considered changing it. And thanks for the kind words, always nice to know the work is being enjoyed ;)

An 8 inch dip is very reasonable compromise considering the source material that you are working with. :) I only wish I had
some of those 3d skills of yours to bring my little starship yacht
project to life. I'm current trying to work out the supporting structural members for the blueprint set that I'm drawing. But I won't bore you with any more
this is about your project. :)

You're fine, sounds interesting. Trying to come up with a reasonable structure isn't small potatoes even with the 3d skill.

It has just struck me if it has not already been thought of before but the briefing room would fit in and work rather nicely into deck 2 or 3. With the curvature of the bulkheads in your 3-D drawings here in correlation to what has already been seen on screen I think it would fit rather well. Excellent and very creative work bye the way.

^^Actually there is, according to the plans, a briefing room on deck four. Which really should've been a briefing/lounge IMHO, but hey, what do I know.

Still tweaking the torpedoes. You can see how they're arguing with me a bit ;O

@havoc92 - I like the "all red" torpedo! I had thought about modeling the TOS torpedoes with silver/gray body and vary it with red, blue or white nosecaps but one with all the same color does look interesting.

Liking the use of bridge-style stations there. It makes sense that the style of equipment would continue throughout the ship.

I just threw that color on there to show the surface detail. In black it wasn't coming across very well. But, they'll probably be black when finished.

Yeah, my thought was that the bridge is pulling a lot of stations together; but, in a cramped and limited comm lab, the stations would be required to do more rather than less; so, the stripped console style used in engineering doesn't seem at all appropriate.

This is the latest work on the photon torpedo bay. I've been through several iterations of designs for
the external ports and mostly hated all of them until this one. Essentially, I went back to the root design
FJ used and he was right imho. This is still pretty loose; but, I can now proceed with fleshing out the
    internals of the bay.

This is a great way to reconcile FJ's stuff with later trek tech, especially when one considers that, with this design interpretation, science probes could also be launched from this location, which makes sense since the superstructure is the main science labs area of the ship after all. Keep up the great work!

P.S. Have you given any thought to what's inside the torpedo casings? Perhaps one or more spherical anti-matter charges, like that seen in "Obsession", sits in there "egg-carton style" for variable yield torps, this would also segue nicely with the idea that the photon grenades from "Arena" are smaller versions of same? Anywho just a thought, carry on.

You might say that this is a transitional scene. In TAS we see these as phaser banks, so having one as a phaser bank with The Cage type cannon before one, and a new tube in the other.

I might say the lower sensor dome was more, that it emitted phasers and blob type torpedoes as well. As dilithium became more scarce, we saw move to blister phasers, which you might have on the top of the saucer, but not the bottom.
This way you have a little of everything.

Cool, cool stuff. I love the red torpedoes. I like the notion of these garishly colored things being sent in-your-face to an enemy combatant.

I'm actually considering Grey with Orange trim and lettering. No final decision on it yet; but, I'll be testing schemes on it once the torpedo room is finished. Haven't had much time to work on it lately as I put in 100 hours of OT in the last 4 weeks and most of it in two weeks. Been pretty dead.
