I know he didn't design it, but I believe the creator of the mesh allows people to use it as they wish. See: http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=288

And to everyone else complaining, no one is forcing you to view this thread, so there's no point in coming here solely to complain about another persons work just because you don't like the style.

Not too mention the fact that I am these are pretty much seen only here and the Who North American forums, and the makers of the models, the ships I use, anyhow, don't care if they are credited or not.

And not once did I say I designed any of these, so don't go on trying to make me look like some sort of ogre stealing credit from someone else, sir. And once the official comic's actually up and going, there will be a credits page, someplace....so hopefully you'll stop your whinging on that

And to Crow, you are still sorta generalizing, post an example of the creepy stuff.

And I'd not worry too much about it, NCC-1701-B, when one puts up anything alternative.....be it a different style of artwork or being a supporter of controversial topics, such as the ancient aliens theory, one's gotta be ready to be open to criticism and so on if you're not a mainstreamer...it's no big deal to me. My wool's always been on the black side, so to speak.:)

The funny thing is, you're not open to criticism. You rationalize and marginalize every comment you don't agree with. Anybody that criticizes your art or ancient alien quackery simply get labeled "sheeple". Maybe you should start examining the "why"'s of those criticisms.(and study more science and watch less history channel)

Not claiming the meshes are yours doesn't absolve you. By not providing credit you're letting viewers be mislead by assumption. Your work in these images is little more than composition and poorly done at that.

Alternative is great, but that doesn't make it immune from being bad art.

I would be curious to know who designed that connie...it's a neat next gen take on the ship, though impractical. I'm not really big on Fanfics, but they keep interest in trek as whole going....some decent renders and amusing mashups of various items from different sci-fi properties...I chuckled at the Starfury with Cornholio painted on the top....not much here is my cup of tea but well done for what it is non the less...

Here you'll find everything you'll ever want to know about who was involved in creating that model, but the design originated from that DA member. Browse his gallery, he has a couple more shots of it on there, once you get past all those STO screenshots.

    Complaining?

It's called feedback, and that's whole point of this thread isn't it? Not every one is going to go "cool render, bro".

    Generalizing?

    I listed them.

    :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:
What the flippin heck does that stuff have to do with feedback on your renders?

Some of your characters look creepy and if that's the look you're going for then fine. Some of you're stuff has a fetish porn-esque quality to them which may or may not be intentional on your part. If it's unintentional then you might want to use clothes that aren't fetish and stripper outfits. On the other hand, if it is intentional don't get mad when people call you out on it.

I could explain, but 1: a lot of people don't have the attention span to read pages and pages of material, a lot of it mathematical and relating with physics and so on, including hpyerdiamensional. Tried that once on a forum, several people....admittingly they were your typical joe sixpack slobs....did not bother looking at the research because they said, "that's too much reading!" better off trying to explain cold fusion to an squirrel monkey. 2: Even if I posted, they'd still not listen, you yourself using the term "quakery" and some people can not stand the even the suggestion that we might have been helped, and not suddenly become 'super smart' in the past 150 years on our own.....that we are not the pinnacle of creation/evolution.....and that we are not the masters over matter. So why take the time to bother with folks. Oh, and let me tell you something about mainstream science, sir.....mainstream science is always followed by two other guys.....politics and business.....and those two guys have rarely, if ever, worked in the best interests of us regular people....I mean they lie to us all the time....be it the Gulf of Tonken to Iraq.....to the insane national debt to NDAA, promises of the removal of the patriot act...which was in fact extended for several more years......why is it that we are not approving the government for that, but we take it's word when it comes to science (which they control the money to) without question or hesitation.....that's like hiring a child molester on parole to babysit your kids. Mainstream science only does and says whatever the signers of their paychecks tell them to say. And if there's no product to sell, the signers tell science to keep it's trap shut.

And remember....Galileo, Copernicus, Tesla.....those guys pretty much had their lives destroyed because their findings would have totally changed the world.....but the those in power wanted to maintain the status quo.....if you think that we are now immune to that, just because it's the 21st century, just shows to me historical/political ignorance.

And, no, I do not get my research off a cable TV channel, 95% of what I work on and find out are done on my own, I got zipdisks (yes, I still use the old school zipdisks :p) full of notes and all that. My findings just happen to coincide with the findings of several alternative researchers. And it's it's 'quackery' as you put it, then why do I see so many people talking about such issues, in public, more than ever before? And think about this....out solar system is the bratty young kid in the neighborhood, with neighboring systems billions of years older....if there's anyone there, they could be millions, if not billions, of years ahead of us...in science and spirituality (with any powerful technology, you need wisdom in order to use it right, otherwise it will only cause more bad than good. And my studies of witnesses who claim to have met people from other worlds say that we need to be spiritually balanced, we are not wise enough to handle what we got already.....hell, my studies of the early 50's make me want to piss on Eisenhower's grave, I tell you what)

And when dealing with folks who think what happens to the Kardasians, McCulken's drug problems, zombie apocalypses or who Clinton slept with as stuff worth talking about....I see wool and cute little curled horns growing on them. In America, anyhow....since my dialogues with people of Russian, Hindu, Zuni, Mayan, Hopi various others, aka 'non-western culture' are very open to this and not only that, but take it as fact that we are not alone and that we've been visited many times. And the ones to be truly devastated at the finding of intelligence ET life will be scientists and engineers...well, mainstream ones ,anyhow, since their views of the world around them will have to totally change, but will no longer be the true masters over nature....which makes sense since most of them I've dealt with would rather bite of their own tongues and swallow them before even considering that they are wrong.

And, since I am sure I have given you more than enough source of amusement again, I'll post up some more images shortly.

Peace, all, and keep looking up and dare to take a peak over the edges of the box. :techman:

Since when did I say I was mad? All I asked was a few questions. And creepy could mean anything, I need a specific example. And if some skin is creepy, may I suggest you never delve into Japanese anime, you'll have a field day, there. And like I said, comic books are no different....buff burly men in costumes so tight you can tell what religion they are and amazon women dressed up like a dominatrix are pretty much the key ingredients Marvel and DC comics. ;)
Hell, TOS Trek was talked about the same way with the miniskirts, stockings and knee boots....as well as the alien chicks Kirk was seducing or getting tortured by.

Well, the great thing about science is if you don't trust the person that did the experiment you're free to repeat it on your own. Scientists don't just publish results. They also publish the methods they use to come to those results. Feel free to take them to task. Prove them wrong, but do it using the scientific method. Not some "research" of he said/she said/I read it on the internet so it must be true.

I like how in one sentence you basically say "all these people are talking about it, so there must be something to it" and later on describe people as sheep that believe whatever the government says. Sounds like your falling in the same trap. The number of people that talk about something or believe something does not make it a fact.

People will continue to make fun of your ancient alien beliefs until you can start presenting facts that can be rigorously tested. (trying not to use the word "scientifically" since you seem to have a phobia there)

It's fine to have an open mind to possibilities. Just don't believe everything you hear. Test and question. If someone makes an outrageous claim you need to first see if there is a more plausible answer and second demand that they produce verifiable proof of that claim.

No, now you are mixing words....the sheep are the ones who believe what authorities tell them, the smart people are the ones who are questioning the authorities and openly talking about such issues in public.

Also, you keep saying produce proof it exists, the skeptics and debunkers need to prove it does NOT exists...100% damnable proof...and they have none...it's a two way street...and many skeptics I personally have known are unable and, more often than not, unwilling to do so.

And don't be using the word phobia and science together when addressing me, sir. I test my own stuff, and as I mentioned, I posted my stuff, but dumb joe sixpack was unwilling to read it since 'it had too much reading involved" his own words. And I feel you'll only listen to a mainstream scientist the "nothing can go faster than light, there is no free energy, oil is all there is we got to use, we're alone in the universe!" fellow working for a major corporation or government agency.

Remember, they laughed at Copernicus, Galileo and Tesla.....the first 2 were proven correct many years later....and I am certain that at some point Tesla's going to be recognized too....once you get politics and business out of science's already over screwed ass. And that's what I am getting at....politics and business controls science...and you really think science will be allowed to make public something that might either go against, say, big oil or cause history to be needed to be rewritten? If you think that can happen, you are just waaaaay too pure, too noble and too faithful in those in power. The western world's not immune to it, either.

It's nothing against you or anything, it's a cool looking ship. I've just never understood why they (the federation) totally overhaul or rebuild old ships anyway, with replication tech. being on the scale it is in the 24th century. So it's a "personal universe" preference I guess you could say.

Sorry to disagree, but in any scientific enquiry the burden of proof is always, always, on those making the affirmative claim.

OK, in that vein, prove to me that Smurfs don't exist.

Nobody has ever laughed at Tesla. He's always been known to be a genius. Edison was just a better business man.

And another note, one of your common diatribes is that if aliens are found "scientists and engineers will be shocked to the core". You are incorrect. Most of them will say "cool!", adjust their theories and start asking questions. Religions, on the other hand, will have problems.

Not sure if that's true either. John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many mansions." Clifford Simak even used that in Way Station.

Well, the Brookings Report made by the institute of the same name, pretty much stated scientists and engineers would be devastated the most. With the massive egos I've seen in the mainstream scientific world, be it from energy to archeology, they'd, like my grandma used to say, "rather be correct than happy".

And many religions, the Hindu, Buddhist, Muslims, the Dogan, the Zuni, the Hopi....they talk about visitations from 'men from the stars'.....several of these aforementioned groups are even specific in that these 'star people' came from Sirius. It's always a treat for me when I visit some of my friends in the reservations out west, listening to the tribal elders about them. Also, the Muslims are one of the strongest supports in the belief in alien life, hell, it's even talked about in the Koran...not only in alien life, but it being intelligent, alien life. Plus the Apocrypha conveniently left out of the bible. Also, the book of Enoch, which is hardly discussed in the mainstream, sounds sooooo much like an alien visitation, even mentioning the shape of the Earth. Also, the book of Ezekiel sounds like, to me, a UFO sighting and landing....and a NASA scientist, complete with a technical analysis. Joe Blumrich of NASA researched it, trying to debunk it, but in the end, he made a 180 turn on that and is convince it happened. http://www.spaceshipsofezekiel.com/html/josef-blumrich-article_by.html Even the Vatican, 5 years ago, stated that existence of of extra terrestrial life does not negate the existence of god. The only 2 groups I know that have a problem with alien life are bible belt Christians and Evangelicals....and even many of them are saying the opposite, now. So the whole idea of the religious folks going ballistic regarding alien life is pretty much not even an issue anymore.

Anyhow, on to some more pictures.

Found this nice mesh online tonight.

Would make a nice Tal'Shair vessel, I think.

I found this one and wanted to make a story of it and I came up with the idea that, between TOS and Phase Two/TMP, Starfleet were working on a new breed of smaller ship, a Starfleet fighter craft if you will. A few were being developed, but over time, as relations with the Klingons getting less unpleasant, and things were slowly getting more peaceful, the fighters were stashed away. Now, in the 2390's, with folks like the Dominion, the Borg and nincompoops like Nero, Starfleet opens up the vaults, dusted off the old prototypes and are considering making newer, up to date models, but first the old ones would need a good test run. The crew, here, get chosen to do the tests for 2 main reasons:
1: Since they are out in deep space, in the middle of nowhere, the damage won't be as bad should something go wrong, and out of prying eyes of the Romulans and other folks.
2: Starfleet knew that if the fighters would be discovered by hostile forces, the Vulcan engineers who made them decided the best way to prevent such a theft would be to make it pretty much impossible to fly them out out of the hangers/lab, let alone fly them back home. Therefore the Vulcans, working on the thought controlled systems, the key element to making the fighters so fast responding, made it that the computers would only recognize thoughts in Vulcan, not any others, and with a Vulcan captain, the crew, along with them being in the middle of nowhere, were snapped up to test these.

I have this fighter hull a custom name and number
    [IMG]

"Doc" going over a few last minute checks with the captain before the two of them test out the Cydonia. Note the helmet, which is the interface unit for the pilot and the computer. This is pretty much a homage to one of my favorite films, Firefox, as well as a few ideas I was working on. [IMG]

Just a more expansive shot to give a sense of size for the fighter, plus I wondered what the cargo bay might be like on bulkier ships, like Constellations and Soyuz.

    Enjoy the weekend!:techman:

That hangar bay looks really cool, the fighter design is not the best, are there no other TOS style shuttles or anything that look a bit meatier? I can understand that ship as a warp or impulse testbed, but it doesn't scream fighter to me.

Yeah, the fighter is from the Starfleet Battles strategy game.
