Why ask? Just take over! Let the great TrekBBS insurrection commence!
I got the PM, and decided not to change it (or the other thread where the hover text gave it away) for a couple of reasons, the primary one being that trying to hide the destruction of DS9 is rather like trying to hide the fact that Janeway died back when that happened. Some "spoilers" are just too big to try to keep under wraps. Another reason being that the mere fact that it was destroyed is only a spoiler because of the emotion tied to it, it really doesn't spoil anything. They could have put that on the cover of the book and you wouldn't know anything about the book other than that happens in there somewhere.
While readers of the book know (presumably, I haven't read it yet) that it was destroyed and no reset button was pressed, merely stating it was destroyed doesn't tell us anything. Cause, you know they killed everyone in Fallen Heroes, but saying that tells you nothing about the book.
It's about how it happened, why it happened, what were the events that led up to it? Who died on it? Was it an attack? Was it a self destruct? Was it just decommissioned? Etc...

As has been pointed out, the picture on the cover of Raise the Dawn is not the new DS9. It's just the pieces. No design has been finalized and shown to the reading public quite yet.
Does this mean we'll be getting and Enterprise-F and a Voyager-A sometime soon as well?
Voyager underwent a major refit in Full Circle, although the book covers continue to depict the original design of the ship.
Then again, if it looks anything like Star Trek Online's successor to the Intrepid-class, it's probably for the best...
Already understood. I was basing my remarks on the actual text, which I suppose I should have mentioned to avoid being chastised for misunderstanding what I understood clearly.
^Yeah, I figured you were using "looks to be" in the sense of "creates the expectation that it will be," but it's understandable how it could be misread as "looks like from the picture." So it's a vocabulary issue.
IIRC, the Voyager's refit in that book was mainly the installation of the slipstream drive, but the ship's exterior remained the same as always. Not every refit requires an extensive redesign like the one the original Enterprise went through in TMP.
Before I post this, I should mention that I am by no means an artist. However, I did grab a pencil and paper and sketched out quickly what was in my mind after I read the book. I don't have a scanner nearby, so the best I could do was take picture with my phone. These are just my initial thoughts about the station, try not to focus on the fact that my drawing is awful!
Also, I should say that I was quite delighted that the USS Rio Grande actually outlived Deep Space Nine herself!

Not bad, but I think the book said that the three rings were all mutually perpendicular, so that inner ring should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise (or counterclockwise). And there should probably be more crossover bridges between rings.
