So I'm really into mysteries and I watch a lot of Masterpiece on PBS, which basically is what brings us BBC programs. I've been watching Lewis on and off and I'm nearly done with what I can watch (for free, at least). The show Endeavour recorded, which looks like it's a prequel for Morse, and I'm about to watch that. Any other suggestions for people who know their stuff better? I just stumbled across this stuff on Netflix so I'm a bit blind. I actually started with Inspector Lynley but like Lewis a lot more.

I haven't watched Morse yet. Don't know if it's on here. I also liked the three episodes PBS aired of "Case Histories" with Jason Isaacs. It's based on the Jackson Brodie novels.

Suggestions don't have to be just mysteries either. I don't like things that are overly sad, but I watch other dramas and such. I just need help because I don't know anyone else that watches this stuff and I want more!

"Prime Suspect" with Helen Mirren.

The original British version of "Cracker."

And "Endeavor" was very good.

And, for something slighty different, "Ultraviolet," a cool British miniseries about government agents tracking down vampires. NOT to be confused with the Milla Jovavich movie of the same name.

"Ultraviolet" isn't jokey at all. It's deadly serious--and takes a realistic, scientific approach to the subject matter.

Well, it purports to, but it doesn't entirely work. There's no realistic, scientific explanation for why something visible to the naked eye wouldn't reflect in a mirror or be captured on video. If they'd dropped that aspect, it would've been much more plausible.

Still, it's a pretty good miniseries. Idris Elba was in it. (And the female lead was fittingly played by an actress named Harker.)

'Murder On The Orient Express'

I know, I know, it's been done, but the most recent one, with David Suchet as le petit Belgique is excellent in this, and if you don't know the plot it's a real twister. Overall a masterful production.

Seen the new Sherlock, with Benedict Cumberbatch? Only 6 epsidoes so far, but really, really well done.

I'll have a think, I'm sure therre's more

Surprised Wallander hasn't been mentioned, seems to be very popular. Wire in the Blood for another ITV show that was worth checking out. Slightly different but Garrow's Law was worth watching if I remember right.
