Lieutenant Commander
How is this even possible?
In the scene when Wionna gives birth to Jim, George asked for the sex of the baby. Winona tells him it’s a boy. George acted surprised and replied... A BOY?
I thought that scene was a bit unrealistic even though it made George’s Death more heartbreaking and sad...However this is year 2012 and anytime a couple are expecting a child they always know the sex of the baby by the 2nd trimester.
Heck, pregnant women go shopping for baby stuff before the child's birth. Some of her friends even ask if they should shop for blue or pink cloths which is another way of finding out if the baby is going to be a boy or girl.
May be I am been Paranoid but It was just not realistic that Jim’s parents who live in the 24 centaury with all the advanced medical equipments had no clue if they were having a baby boy or girl.
Fans always said the scene where Spock dumps Kirk on Delta Vega was weak/poor writing from Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman . However writing a story where a couple has no clue of the sex of their baby despite living in year 2233 was far worse.
