Here's an idea: in the land of fluffy clouds and inferior acid where the right to an abortion has been revoked and all fetuses are carried full-term, people who wish to adopt these children have no say in which child they will be given. No choice at all. Not gender, not ability, not ethnic background, not skin colour, no knowledge of birth parents, nothing. Just like pregnancy, you get what you're given, and you live with it, literally. Great way to ensure that non-white and disabled kids are adopted too, right? After all, this is what happens (okay, minus the skin colour bit) to all pregnant women, right? So why should anti-abortion adoptive parents have any choice? They should love any child they're given, just like biological parents are expected to do.
So, how many people would have second thoughts about adopting now, eh?
