PICTURE POST!

My beagle gets along very well with my two cats...and both of my cats are half-Siamese! On the surface the math doesn't work: two exceptionally temperamental and bossy kitties and a playful, sweet dog who always wants attention. But somehow they all get along. It's not always paradise, but most of the time they have a quiet and peaceful relationship. I've even caught them sleeping alongside one another.

Wish I had pics. That sight was beyond adorable.

I love beagles. My family got one on my 5th birthday and she lived until my 21st. I'll have to find a picture of her...

Well my cats are 10, 10 and 4 years old. The 10 year old ones loath dogs and the 4 year old one has chased a Rhodesian ridgeback out of our yard and down the street after mauling his face with her ninja claws. She basically exploded all over him.

I've bought a few lost dogs home over the years and the cats are in a perpetual state of alarm while they know that.. thing is somewhere in the house. I could probably get away with a puppy but I'm never going through the house training deal again.

The dogs and cats have always gotten on well in my house (well, mom's house now):

Here's another of Beagsley, in the yard:

Beagles are wonderful dogs. They have a terrific sense of humor. Here is Bean (AKA The Boogie Woogie Beagle Boy of Company Three), lounging:

After the poor little dude got stung by a wasp :( :

Awww, looks a lot like my uncles beagle Bino. She's by far the smallest of his four dogs, but the oldest, so she's the boss :D
Lounging WITH cats. This gives me hope, LOL.
Our dog Zilwer has never had any problems hanging with our cats. Don't have any pics at the moment though.

I adore Beagles, and hope to have a Porthos one day. :)

My niece's boyfriend has a beagle, and when the boyfriend brings his dog to my niece's house the poor dog has to wear a muzzle, otherwise he chases the cats. He's the sweetest little dog, though, and if he'd been brought up with cats he'd probably be fine with them.

I had a wonderful beagle mix when I was a kid that stayed with me until a year before I got married. She reached age 16 and we had a black tie debutante ball for her ... even the dog guests came in tuxedos. She was a sweetie.

Unfortunately the place we're renting now doesn't allow large pets, so these are all our pets for the time being:

That's Odo, the climber.

And that's Kira. (She's shedding in this photo, so she's not at her lovely best.)

I've heard of cat's being marked through ear tipping, or tattooed, to let people know that they are fixed. But I've only heard of it being done in a TNR situation. Maybe some shelters do that when they fix them, even if they are going to be adopted out?

Our cat was adopted from a rescue but doesn't have any markings like that.

I asked my wife about it, and it turns out the markings on his ears come from an old injury shortly after she got him -- he broke into a thin plastic food container and wound up gashing his ears on the sharp edges of the broken plastic, bleeding profusely as a result. Those black markings are the remnants of that incident.

Oh poor baby! :(

My daughter surprised me with the last thing she made in her HS pottery class

She gets a gold star for this one :)

It was my birthday last Saturday and my colleagues surprised me with gifts yesterday at work.

These two were the highlight of them all!
