Mass Effect (1)

Yep, after I got Legion I forgot to go and activate him before I went on the next part of the storyline mission. I realize my mistake now.

And that's pretty funny about taking Legion on Tali's mission. I never would have thought about doing that! While I liked the idea of the Dossier missions, I do wish the team had come together a lot more quickly.

^ That's why I added the 'in ME2' at the end. Though the last part of your spoiler-tagged comment doesn't apply to my Shepard. :p

:techman:

But for the biotic thing, that was the easiest choice I made during the suicide mission. Sure, any biotic could make a barrier, but it made sense to pick the most powerful biotic for that role, so I went with Samara as she and Jack seemed equally capable but Samara seemed more emotionally stable. ;)

Same here, same reasoning. "Oh, we need an uber-powerful biotic? Well, how convenient we have two of the most powerful biotics around right here!"

B-but Miranda can do anything they can do! She's engineered to be perfect at everything!

Silly Miranda.

Well, I've finished all the dlc for ME2. A lot of fun overall. Although I didn't really care for the Hammerhead stuff. Oh well. Going to try to pick up ME3 in the next few days. Looking forward to, and dreading, the end of the series. I'd love to see a movie of these in the next few years. Actuallly when I see the trailers for Prometheus, I get a Mass Effect vibe.

Legendary Pictures have the rights to Mass Effect and are working on it though if one ever gets made I doubt we would see it before 2014 at the earliest.

It's still in the planning stages and they said they weren't gonna follow the storylines from the game, and that it will be a male Shepard.

Yeah, the Hammerhead stuff was a mixed bag I agree. Though everything non-Hammerhead about "Overlord" was excellent, and "Arrival" and especially "LotSB" were just great.

The Hammerhead Firewalker DLC was essentially just a gameplay/tech demo to figure out a better way to use vehicle based gameplay in Mass Effect 3. All in vain apparantly since they ended up not using any (besides the odd in-rails turret segment.)

What did you think of the story based DLC like Overlord, Arrival & Lair of the Shadow Broker? I liked how Arrival had you going solo for a change and using stealth tactics to avoid detection for the first segments. OK overall, if not great. Overlord was definitely better storywise and it's actually grown on me more in subsequent playthroughs. Plus (depending on your decisions) importing into ME3 leads to a very nice scene.

LotSB is easily the best though.

'nuff said.

Overlord was pretty cool. Those rogue VIs creep me out though. Something about those mechanical "hiccups" just gives me shivers.

Arrival was pretty neat too, it really had the feeling of a story that tied in to the main overall arc. Playing solo... well, makes me realize how much I depend on my team. Still I loved the story. I don't remember using stealth tactics that much, I guess I just blasted my way through.

Lair of the Shadow Broker was pretty awesome. Liara was one of my favorite characters from ME1 so it was good to interact with her and actually have her on my team. I liked the rogue Spectre, and the flying car bit was pretty fun. Storming the ship was really cool too. Thought the Shadow Broker was a bit too easy, although I enjoyed the changing up of the tactics beyond the traditional cover and shoot. I was also a little disappointed he was not one of the "main" races. However I like that Liara is the new Broker and I hope this will aid me in ME3.

Speaking of, I probably won't get a chance to play until Saturday anyway, so I haven't purchased it yet. Anyone know of any good current deals? I'm kicking myself for not getting it a month ago when Amazon had it real cheap. I do have a $25 gift card to GameStop so I'll probably just go there.

There's actually an achievement for getting to Kenson without killing any of the Batarians. I just did it once to get the achievement and killed everyone on subsequent playthoughs (you miss out on a few credits otherwise.)

If you've got that gift card, I'd say get the collector's edition from Gamestop then, as it'll offset most of the extra cost vs the regular edition, and the included squadmate DLC is a must have. Oh, and the N7 sniper rifle is just plain awesome.

Oh wow, yesterday Amazon had it listed for either $44.99 or $49.99, I can't remember which. Off to buy it now...

If you haven't purchased it yet, Evil Twin does raise a good point about the DLC squadmate. I can't imagine my playthoughs without that character.
