If Khan was passing himself off as a Starfleet officer, wouldn't pointed sideburns be part of his disguise? This movie is unlikely to be a scene-by-scene recreation of "Space Seed".

There won't be "official confirmation" any time soon of information the studio doesn't want out there. That means nothing.

Indeed. Which means the supposed "confirmation" - which merely means various sites saying "oh yeah, we agree, that other site was right" - also means nothing.

We simply do not know. He could be Khan, he could be Garth of Izar, he could be Rojan, he could be anyone... Without proof there's no confirmation.

Pegg and Quinto were tweeting pics yesterday from SF (mentioning the day before that they had been in costume) so they definitely were still filming there.

Cumberbatch's hair is much shorter there than in the on-set pictures. This may be because of the scenes being filmed, but it's likely that they're doing a lot of hair and makeup work - so the tweeted backstage pics may not be particularly revealing.

yeah, I noticed that too. I like that length and cut on him.

So do you think they might be going the prosthetics route? You know, in a recent phone interview, BC kind of avoided that very question. Hmm.... that makes me wonder. A Klingon, maybe? But then that doesn't explain the Starfleet sideburns.
