Pictures leaked!!!

My theory? Either the Martian Colonies or Qo'noS. A distant third option would be the new colony world settled by the 10,000 survivors of Vulcan.

Ooh, You rock!

Red trees! Red planet....Mars! :rommie:

Well, I googled and Qo'Nos is referred to as The Red Planet. It was a stange web site too! Never saw it before.

And they say Trekkies are nerds. I don't know what they're talking about. :guffaw:

What website? Can you give us a link? Qo'nos has had a couple of different looks over the years (grungy green in Next Gen, icy and mountainous in Enterprise), but it's never been a red planet.

But WILL there be styrofoam rocks and weird whistling wind sounds that kind of have a resemblance to chimes? ;)

Be careful what you asked for.

We have a Kosh Narenek on TrekBBS, she posts regularly in the Once Upon a Time Thread and the Vampire Diaries Thread in General SciFi

While I'm sure it will look great on screen, I'm got the same vibe as a lot of you. There's something wonderfully cheesey about that red foliage.

Is that a torn gold tunic lying in it?

Set photos these days are more "extensions" of VFX than ever, I don't expect the plants to look anything like that after FX and lighting.

RAMA

I thought it might be a marker for a special fx creature. I can't tell what it is, but there are three or four people just inside the trees in that picture.

Could the red plants and trees be from ceti alpha 4 or 5 ???
Ceti Alpha 3. But only if you're playing Quake 3.

It is interesting, because Cumberbatch said to zap2it about his character: The character I'm playing, he's strong, I can say that much. I've changed my physique a bit, so that requires eating like a foie gras goose, well beyond your appetite, And, providing I don't feel too ill, I then work out two hours a day with a phenomenal trainer. It's the L.A. way."

In the beginning, I didn´t think he was playing Khan, but now was in doubt.

Most of us have come to the conclusion that the villain is an Augment of some species. Whether Human or Klingon, we don't know, but don't assume that it's Khan based on the human looks. Starfleet still had augmented embryos in storage after Malik destroyed his ship with the stolen embryos on board in ST: Enterprise, "Borderland." Someone could have stolen those embryo and created his own band of "super humans." (Personally, I think this is where Peter Weller's character comes into play.)

As long as it's not Khan he's playing, I'm happy. JJ needs to leave Montalban's Khan alone and go with an original villain.

Dunno if anyone else has posted this, but the other week I heard that Star Trek was filming out at or near Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory ("Now that is a big door!"), and that they were going to be doing plate photography in Oakland and San Francisco. I've seen references to the SF photography, but not the other. Perhaps it's second unit stuff, but interesting nevertheless.

Wherever or whatever they're shooting, they're about to wrap all principal photography. Memory Alpha's reporting that Los Angeles is the final location and that Abrams will complete shooting there by around May 3rd.

Hmm... so the rumor about going "up north" (I assumed Vancouver) is just for post-production?
