Does It Get Better???

The one I can't choke down is "The Thaw". I have not rewatched that one in years. In fact it will be just about new to me it's been so long, when I finally make myself do it.

"Drat."

I LOVE "The Thaw"... for a myriad of reasons, the greatest being that final scene between the clown and Janeway which she ends with that throaty...

"I know."

I like the whispered reply of the clown even better.
"Drat."

Think Tank: Interesting story, although I found Kurros to be extremely annoying. Every time he came on screen I wanted to strangle him. Still, this was a fine episode with some nice twists and turns, and a satisfying ending.
5/10

Juggernaut: I'm not a fan of the Malon, but this was still a decent outing for them. The writer's attempt to portray them as sympathetic characters worked quite well. B'Ellana was the real star of this episode, and Dawson as always gave a great performance.
5/10

Someone to Watch Over Me: A very funny romance episode that made great use of 7 and the Doctor. The only sad part was the ending. It almost made me cry.
7/10

11:59: Call me a sucker for romance episodes if you like, but I really enjoyed this episode. The message about progress was good, and I also liked the way that they not so subtly exploited the whole Y2K craze.
All in all, a nice feel good episode.
7/10

The only problem is it doesn't seem to gel with anything we've seen before in Trek.

Perhaps, but a similar concept was used in the Babylon 5 pilot (although never mentioned again).....

The Gathering said:
Sinclair: "I wouldn't."
Random Dude with alien chick: ?
Sinclair: "You know the rules about crossing species. Stick with the list."
Random Dude: "What are you? A bigot or something?"
Sinclair: "No, but....obviously you've never met an Arnasian before. After they finish, they eat their mate."

I liked all those episode but I think I liked them all a bit more than you, except perhaps 11:59 which would also get a 7 from me.

The part I liked the most about Juggernaut was it continued to elaborate on B'Elanna's problems and her increasing relationship with Tuvok and Chakotay and distancing from Janeway.

They are in Voyager's engineering dept and Torres has just dissed the Mahlon. He's walked off and Chakotay is calling her on her attitude.

TORRES: Diplomacy. Janeway's answer to everything.
CHAKOTAY: This isn't the Captain talking, it's me, and I'm giving you an order. Keep your temper in check. Understood? Understood?

Now that's an assertive first officer.

And even though Torres is distancing herself from Janeway... the Captain hasn't lost sight of her goal to rehabilitate her Engineering Chief.

Voy's bridge, after Chakotay nearly dies on the mission.

TUVOK: B'Elanna is unpredictable, Captain. Under these circumstances her volatile nature could compromise the mission.
JANEWAY: Your concerns are noted, but if I send you over there I'd be sending the wrong message. That I don't have faith in her. But I do.
TUVOK: Your faith is admirable, but logic suggests
JANEWAY: This isn't about logic, it's about trust. She'll come through for us. Now, give me a hand.

Agreed on all 4.
Yes, Jason Alexander is a piss poor actor & I think I would have given "Juggernaut" a 6/10.....but that's just me. :)

:D

Excellent.

One of my favorite eps.

Haha, glad to be of service. And while I wouldn't say that it's one of my all time favorite episodes, I did enjoy Relativity quite a bit. Enough to give it an 8/10, which is saying a lot coming from me, considering how harsh I've been on a lot of popular fan favorite Voyager episodes.

No offense but I think "Relativity" was the complete opposite of an "intelligent" episode. It was a pure, unadulterated silly "Time Travel Hijinks" episode. So much so that it practically lampshades it and laughs at itself a bit. Unfortunately I find the episode almost too stupid to bear, the story just doesn't stand up once you start thinking about it and completely unravels. Not to mention its pretty short sighted to introduce these temporal policemen into a show where the timeline is frequently changed in time travel stories, so that in future episodes when the timeline is changed you'll be asking "where are those damned temporal cops" and it'll basically ruin what is an already crappy episode (you know which one I mean...)

Jeez who makes all these videos?

Rabid Voyager fans, who else?

Its funny, I've discovered that Voyageris the easiest of the Treks to find a multitude of vids on a variety of characters. Not as easy as those who worship at the altar of the Warrior Princess, but a hell of a lot easier than TOS or TNG or DS9.

Do it: By our own froot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofXo-RLksDE&feature=related

I've noticed that too, how many VOY vids there are. VOY is a bit more colorful than the other series I think and that lends itself to vids. There don't seem to be nearly as many DS9 ones.

There is also a deeply satisfying amount of ST:XI videos out there. Do you want to see my favorite? It makes me super happy to watch this..
