The Walking Dead Season 2 Discussion *Spoilers*

There are still too many characters that very little has been done with, so we might as well toss out T-Dog, Beth, and Patricia (though she does play an incredibly naive and idiotic role in the comics during a future camp setting).

T-Dog's single "WHO'S THAT?!?!?!?!?" line in the lastest episode when they brought the new kid to the farm made me laugh. They are doing absolutely NOTHING with the character. T-Dog doing so little every episode has become a running joke.

I pray I don't get accused of racism with this post, but the early arcs of the comic had zero black characters, except the father and son for an issue. Even down to his name, T-Dog is feeling a bit token to me, and I'm wondering if he'll be killed off as soon as certain other characters are introduced later on.

I kept waiting for him to fill the Tyreese role somehow, but that's clearly not going to happen at this point (at least he'd be a pretty poor substitute for Tyreese).

They confirmed that Tyreese will be in the show anyway, when they were casting for whatshisface. The father. I've forgotten the character names, so I'm just going to refer to them as Michael and Walt until I remember.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already but does anyone else think that the farm might be discovered by the new band of humans from the smoke coming off the pile of zombies they burned after the barn massacre?

Not now. It's been more than a day since that fire. Anyone who wanted to home in on it would have by now; plus, Dave and Tony didn't seem to know anything about it.

Good point, though.

That's good news. Hopefully Michonne isn't far behind.
Michonne has been both confirmed and not confirmed. Producer Gale Anne Hurd has stated Michonne will appear in "future seasons." A stuntman has claimed to have portrayed one of Michonne's zombie "pets" in this season's finale. Robert Kirkman has said that they want to introduce the character in the future, but "I don't really know" as to whether or not she would appear this season.

Mid-S2 debuted internationally to huge ratings.

Following last week's global premieres of The Walking Dead on FOX International Channels' (FIC) networks around the world, the group today announces record-breaking ratings for the hit's return. An average of 16.9 million-viewers tuned in to watch the mid-season premiere outside of the US. The show was the highest rated program on pay television of the night in most of FIC's major markets; winning its time period among all Pay TV. The mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead debuted in 122 countries across Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, speaking 35 languages.

Is Tyreese a comic character? I could wiki later but I'm at lunch and trying to conserve surfing.
Yes. He's introduced in the third arc of the book, in the location after the farm.
I am fairly certain Tyreese was before the farm. He and his daughter and her boyfriend were at the Wiltshire Estates.
Indeed. Tyreese, his daughter, and the boyfriend met Rick's group after the latter had left their camp outside Atlanta. Tyreese was helpful in clearing the roads prior to the arrival at Wiltshire Estates.

Tyreese pretty much eventually becomes Rick's second in command. He is a zombie killing machine. That should be very cool to see. It will be good for those people complaing about there not being no interesting black people on the show.

I get the feeling that T-Dog will be gone when/if Tyreese is introduced.

Wow, so it's a major international hit as well? How popular is Andrew Lincoln in Britain? I know he appeared in a series or two in the UK. Since they produce fewer episodes for their shows, it's easier for an actor to have greater exposure. I wonder if it's the material or Lincoln which contributes most to the international success?

Huh. Okay. It's been a while since I've read but I thought...
He was one of the prisoners involved in a homosexual relationship.
