Provoking traffic offences, common outside sweden?

Personally, i have a thing for halfautomatic cars. Like mercedes' touchshift or VAG's tiptronic.
Bah. I like shifting gears with a stick shift and working the clutch. The transmissions you mentioned are the automotive equivalent of a clip-on necktie, or those cheater chopsticks that work like giant tweezers.

YMMV (literally). :)

Those are some fucking mean animals. I once hit one at nearly 70kph and it fucking attacked me. Even after it was injured. I was driving a lorry so it kinda lost, but still.

How is it a mean animal... I mean... it didn't attack you BEFORE you ran it over ;)

Who drives an automatic these days, manual transmissions are far more common (on this side of the pond at least)
Really? That seems odd.
What's odd about it? I thought it was well known that in general Americans drove automatic while Europeans drove manual.

I feel haughty and naughty for saying it, but I feel the same way. :alienblush:

Automatic and semi-automatic might be easier and faster, but it takes away the fun. (Except in long trips in city traffic, when manual is no fun at all).

The only thing I know about European driving is that I hate roundabouts. Otherwise, I've never paid that much attention.

In that case, mate, you gotta avoid Britain at all costs.

I gonna try this one out next time i'm in Britain. I dunno where it is, but I'm gonna find it.

EDIT: No so bad. Just gotta take the M4 instead of the M1...

We have those in Massachusetts, too. They make traffic flow much easier.

The logic behind it is sound. I just have a problem picturing it working in practice.

Zen, not just Japanese.
My problem is that I have only encountered a few in my life, always in places where they are very uncommon. I don't know how to use them, and neither does anybody else, so it just ends up being a huge clusterfuck.

Let go of your conscious self, and act on instinct.

Let the Force flow through you and guide your hand, young Padawan.

In all seriousness, its not all that hard. Just adapt to the flow of traffic, for the love of god use your indicators, and you'll be fine. Trust me, you cant be worse than the people around here. And we have one every 20 meters.

Certainly, faster and easier for an area that might have five, six or more roads coming to an intersection.

We have one every 200-300 miles...so I don't come across them often. In fact, the last time I encountered a roundabout was in 2006. I have only seen 3 in my entire life. I'm sure they would be easier to navigate if we had more of them, but they're so few and far between that whenever I see one, I'm like "What the fuck is this?"

I look out the window and instantly see three of them.
