TCM Genre movies schedule...

Hmm. Abbott & Costello & Ted & Alice?

I, too, always wished there was an Abbott And Costello Meet The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Actually, when I was a kid, I assumed it existed but was never shown. As for the rest, we should be careful what we wish for, given that there is a Three Stooges movie coming out this year. :rommie:

It's probably for the best that we never got Abbott and Costello Meet Jason and Freddy. Or Abbott and Costello Meet Aliens and Predator.

Actually, Abbott And Costello Meet The Night Stalker might be good.

Or Abbott And Costello Meet Sam And Dean-- and, considering that they're doing time travel now, it could happen. :rommie:

FYI: TCM is running a Bela Lugosi marathon tonight (Sunday, 1/22) starting at 8 PM: Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Black Cat, and Island of Lost Souls.

My DVR is set!

That's all great stuff. Luckily, I have them all on DVD. Island of Lost Souls just came out a few months ago, and it is fantastic.

The Criterion Blu-Ray (also on DVD) of Island of Lost Souls is terrific. I got it early last week and have been slowly making my way through the special features.

10:00 PM House Of Dark Shadows (1970)

Nice. I'll be checking out Phantom of the Rue Morgue, King Solomon's Mines and House of Dark Shadows. Not sure if I've seen Cosmic Monsters or Queen of Outer Space-- that last one sounds like a John Saxon movie, but I must look it up.

Thanks! I'll definitely check out Phantom of the Rue Morgue. I haven't seen that one in decades. (As I recall, it was originally released in 3-D.)

Be interesting to compare it with the Lugosi version.

Don't forget: House Of Dark Shadows is on tonight! :bolian:

Thanks for the reminder!

I wonder if they'll run Night of Dark Shadows anytime soon.

The latter is not very faithful to the TV show, as I recall, but works as a spooky ghost story in its own right. And it has Kate Jackson and Lara Parker!

I once visited the mansion where the movies were filmed. It's only a few hours north of NYC . . . .
