RIP Nicol Williamson

Apparently he didn't want a big deal made out of his death. He'd been out of the acting picture for about 15 years. Read he was a very violatile personality as well. Then again, a lot of good actors are.

I remember him too as Little John in Robin and Marion.

His performance in The Seven-Percent Solution was, in my mind, one of the best portrayals of Sherlock Holmes. Okay, tied with Jeremy Brett's, but still...

I remember my English teacher back in school raving about his Macbeth. I believe that the RSC still have the dvd in their sales catalogue.

Agreed.

Our library, back in the '70's, had a record album of Nicol Williamson reading "The Hobbit". I would kill to own that my self, now.

EDIT: Just found it online. Google nicol williamson + hobbit.
