The 3 bedroom that my fiancee and I will be moving into on Saturday.

Very nice, I'm glad that my referral managed to get something good! Of course, I'm going to be suddenly busy when you move. :shifty:

Did they actually call you?

Now he needs to stand in front of it wearing a tri-corner hat. It would add authenticity to the home, and perhaps even raise property values. I know I'm more confident when a homeowner is wearing a tri-corner hat.

Have you thought about an exciting and lucrative career in real-estate?

Squiggy, seeing as you're in the DC area, I'm just a bit curious as to how big that place is and how much you had to pay for it. I completely understand if you don't want to give that out, though. I imagine it's a lot more expensive per square foot than things in my area.

Oh, I'm just renting. No worries.

It's a 1500 square foot Cape Cod from 1942 with a family room edition from about 10 years ago.

We're paying 2100 a month, but it's appraised at 425,000.

In short YES. Washington is much more expensive than Huntsville.

 I was renting a similar sized Ranch house for ~$800/month a few years ago, and I believe that it would sell around the $140-150k mark.

The house we bought was even less than that! I'd be completely hosed if I ever had to move to an area with a higher cost of living. Good thing I'm not planning on it!

I know; it's just so crazy how cost of living can vary from place to place. Just glancing at Squiggy's house in that photo, I'd guess it would go for about $90-100K around here. You could probably rent it for about $600/month.

Yeah, here in my part of Virginia Squiggy's place would go for about 100K tops. Mind you, the cost of living in southwestern VA and the Roanoke metro area is peanuts compared to living in the D.C. area. So things even out.

The place I am buying about 10 miles north of DC is ~315k. You have to be an hour and a half out before you start to get normalized prices.

Are you sure that's you? There might have been a mix up at the hospital. That might be one of your hundreds of thousands of brothers that didn't make it. Either too slow or unfavored by the godesses. Either way you're a handsome devil. :guffaw:
