Star Trek Endurance Run: Is this a thing?

I'm up to episode 8 so far, and really enjoying it! Two things that surprised me: 1. The pilot has an entirely different crew in it, and 2. This series has a startlingly dismissive attitude towards women. The latter is I'm sure just a product of a time when the show was made, but it seems like there's a woman getting creeped on in every episode.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement everyone! For those that are interested, I'll post a link once I get my website cleaned up a little bit.

Well, it was the 60's. A woman on the bridge was somewhat shocking for the random Joe.

Yeah, unfortunately, the view of women espoused in TOS isn't up to par with today's view. It didn't hamper my enjoyment of the show but I can see how it might upset others.

Check out the thread on [THREAD=154951]Star Trek and the Bechdel Test[/THREAD]. TOS fares poorly.

Undoubtedly, but I think one would be hard-pressed to find ANY TV series from the 60s, or even the 70s or 80s, that passed this test.

Yes, it is a thing!

My friends and I would gather together the opening day of a Star Trek movie and watch all the movies that came before the one we were going to see.

We stopped that tradition right after TUC because, well, eventhough we liked TNG, we didn't like it enough to pull a marathon.
