Yeah, that was commented on in some scenes--how he so “loved” his momma. Right before he was killed (by Hayden? I get the ghosts mixed up for some reason), he said he was going to go back to momma. Constance makes some sick puppies. The deformed son (Thaddeus? Someone is named Thaddeus there), did we ever find out if he was bad like Tate, or just deformed?

The deformed son was Beau (short for Beauregard) and what we saw of him, he seemed nice enough. Thaddeus is Frankenbaby (his official name in the credits is Infantata).

I truly doubt Travis is Constance's son. Not that I don't think the show would go there, I mean they've gone everywhere else so why not, but Constance made a point of saying Tate was her only "perfect child" and the others were damaged in some way. Travis doesn't seem to qualify.

I think the fourth child is still alive and long since bailed on Mommy Dearest and that whole circus. He/she will be integrated into the story at some point. Constance might not recognize him/her. Be highly suspicious of any new character in S2 who is blond, between the ages of 25 and 35, and has some kind of mental or physical handicap.

Or, it could have been a physical disfigurement that was taken care of by plastic surgery, which would explain things if Constance doesn't recognize her own child. Sometimes I wonder about Billie Dean...nah, couldn't be.

Travis was Constance's boyfriend, not her son. It was never suggested that he was her son. In fact, she wanted to marry him at one point.

Oops! Yeah, Travis isn't her son. And thanks for clearing up my confusion.

I always thought Constance was referring to Tate indirectly as her "perfect" child. All her other kids were deformed in some way (Addie and Beau, perhaps the other child as well).

Two more days to go before the season finale! I'm more excited about that than Xmas. :rommie:

I'll place my bets right now: The episode will include ambiguous scenes that imply everything is happening in Ben's mind, and he's locked up in a looney bin. Hahahaha!

Which of course is not to say that's what's really happening. It's just to keep us wound up till the show is back next fall.

Judging by the breakneck pace of revelations over the course of this season, I wonder if we'll have an entirely different story and cast for season two.

Switching the cast would be a massive risk. The one they got now is clicking. Do we really want to lose Jessica Lange?

They need to do something big to rewrite the rules for S2, tho. A story about a bunch of ghosts trapped in a house won't cut it. It could be the Benny Russel twist; the antichrist's birth starts changing the rules and the world; there are portals to other times and places in the house; or something along those lines.

Well, that was a special case in that they had to work around Andy Whitfield's unexpected illness. I'm sure it wasn't anybody's prefered course of action . . . .

Well I think we all would agree they do need to indroduce more living regular characters next year besides Ben and Constance.

Maybe we'll see more of Billie Jean the psychic?

^^ I have a sneaking suspicion that Billie Jean will meet an untimely death in the house. That way she can understand what it's REALLY like in the ghost world.

So since Viv's "normal" baby was still born, does that mean it will be a ghost? And won't she want to take it away from Nora so she can "care" for it?

I'm not convinced the normal baby was stillborn at all. The doctor had a motive to lie, to steal a baby for his wife.

On the other hand, they made a point of telling us that the evil mutant fetus was sucking all the nutrients from normal fetus.

Plus, of course, Vivian's previous pregnancy ended badly as well . . ..

And it's implausible that a six month old fetus could survive without intensive hospital care, but logic has never been this show's strong suit.

If the baby is dead, that means the story is stuck with a newborn ghost baby character indefinitely, which seems clumsy and not very useful to the show going forward. A live baby will pose problems that can generate story (how are they going to feed him?) and he can grow into a toddler at least, and become a factor onscreen. A newborn baby may as well just be a prop.

So the real question then is: Can ghosts breastfeed?

Seeing the baby is dead and so is Vivien, I wonder if Vivien will try to get the baby back from Nora. It is her child after all.

FYI: tonight's finale is longer than an hour. Set your DVR's accordingly.
