How Would You Grade The Episode?

you may want to check either amzon instant video or there own web site for current episodes if you missed them. we only have 2 more episodes after tonight right?

Tonight is episode 11, but apparently this is only a 12-episode season, rats. If any series needs 13-episode seasons, it's this one. :D

But next season will be 13 eps.

I finally got around to watching the latest episode. It blew my mind. We're down to four living characters out of 100 on this show?

Who is still alive? Let's start a list...

Ben
Constance
Constance's psychic friend
The security guy

Who else?

Oh...and I missed a bit. Are both babies okay?

Larry is still alive, but he was shipped off to prison.

And Nora got the dead baby, while Constance got the live one. (Although Hayden seems to have something to say on the matter!)

The real estate agent is still alive also. But ya this is getting silly LOL. So if there is a season 2 will we get a new family in the house? At this point we really kinda have to get some new living people in there.

The non-Satan one was stillborn.

Probably killed by his half-sibling. Little tyke’s starting early on his evilness--hadn’t been alive an hour and he already killed his sibling and his mother.

At this rate, we’re going to need a new family just to get ANY living people in the house!

That was an intense episode. We nearly got to see nearly all the house ghosts (except for Travis, Tate's dad, and Black Dahlia). Violet had every right to be angry with Tate. She already knew about Tate's dark past, but her finding out that Tate raped Vivien just did it for her. Now Vivien is a ghost, too. :( That "Krotoan" spell was obviously baloney, and "Go Away" only banishes the ghost temporarily, so Tate will be back next week. Poor Ben, he's all alone now, but for how long? ;)

Whoah, that was intense! I loved the whole Roanoke thing. Billie Dean is a great character, I hope they get her back on a regular basis.

I wonder if the first twin was really stillborn or if that was a fib to steal the baby for Nora. (That would require that a baby born 3 1/2 months early be able to survive without intensive care, but logic has never been this show's strong suit.)

And that Nora figures out how to feed the baby. For that matter, how did Chad and Patrick plan on caring for live babies? They can't even have supplies sent to the house by phone, since it's unlikely their credit cards are still active. ;)

The quick scenes with Ben cowering in the corner gave me a Benny Russell (DS9) flashback. They're not going to pull a season-ending twist that everything is happening in Ben's mind because he's been committed to a looney bin, are they? That would solve some logic issues, such as that woman from the psych ward who grossly violated ethics and law to tell Ben that one of the babies wasn't his.

A lot of what's happened in the story makes sense from the perspective of Ben's guilt-riddled madness...sexy ghosts vamping around and chasing him, Hayden being a crazy beeotch who's obsessed with him, his rescue of Vivien that apparently "makes things okay" right before she conveniently dies. And if his chief worry is keeping his family together, that's now solved. His wife and daughter are literally prisoners, and have no choice to stay with him as long as he owns the house.

I dunno, I think American Horror Story has been far stronger than this season of The Walking Dead.

TWD doesn't rely on ridiculousness quite so heavily to make the plotlines work and seems like a sincere attempt to explore human nature under extreme pressure. AHS doesn't care about any of that, and is just pure sensationalism with no greater goal than tossing one entertainingly sleazy and over-the-top scene at us after another.

But the Globes are notorious for absurd nominations. Amusing rant on the topic: "a completely meaningless awards show from a scandal-riddled organization on a network desperate for ratings." :rommie:

Hollywood filmmakers and TV producers who lavishly lobby the HFPA almost always score nominations.
The AHS producers probably did some behind-the-scenes finagling to earn their nomination. Since nobody really takes the Globes seriously anyway, I don't begrudge them that. The Globes is like the AHS of awards ceremonies - pure tripe.
