Those guys rock.
I coated the trunk of my trees with peppermint oil. Rory hasn't gone near them since. Apparently, cats don't like peppermint!
But he has so much fun! Clearly if I ever have children, they will be little terrors.
There's another small tree that he tries to gnaw on.
My cats learned to leave my tree alone a long time ago. A lot of hard work went into conditioning them to leave it be. The most they do these days is sniff the base or some branches and then walk on. It's my beagle I do more worrying about...if she ever has a nervous fit that thing is going to be toast.
Go watch it, maybe you'll feel better. Or go watch lovey movies? Or go be lovey with someone?

Now he just likes to look at it, maybe sit under it and bat at an ornament.

I'll post pics if I can catch him under the tree again. That kitten moves like lightning.
My parents have completely given up on keeping the cats out of the trees or putting up real decorations. My mom has resorted to all plastic ornaments. This talk about tree destruction prompted me to find these pics my mom sent me last year.....

Homer is an amateur. People have set up entire side-parties for me to ruin.
Although, I still don't see their point when they accuse me of ruining parties. First, if a party is not clothing optional, they need to state that in the invitation. Second, if I'm meant to keep my clothes on as often as people expect me to, they shouldn't be so easy to take off.
