Hey! I grew up with TNG and recently took handle of the addiction once again. I am surrounded by the Destiny series at the moment as well as now viewing the seventh season of TNG. I love Picard and have since I was little but Number One is still one of my favorites. He is such a dog....so much so that I named my dog Riker.....and our older dogs name is Bridget....so when we leave the house...."Riker, you have the bridge." Thats how deep it is. I really wanted to jump in and say hey, I need to meet others who are also of the same perspective. I look forward to reading post and so on!

I've just begun watching TNG, starting at the beginning with the two-parter pilot episode. I'm a fairly new ST fan, getting into the franchise when the film came out in 2009. I've watched TOS, so now I'm really looking forward into working my way through the other series. I loved TNG pilot and am very excited about the rest of the episodes. I have so much to watch, but I can't wait. :)

Hi everyone just want to introduce myself, having recently joined this forum, I am obviously a newbie. TNG was the first Trek I ever watched, which my friend got me into five years ago. The characters I like are Data, I think he is the best character in TNG and Picard and certainly Riker. I agree with you Gold Grizzly in terms of fav characters.

In terms of some of my favourite episodes, I love for example measure of a man, lessons I always thought was done quite well, even though it's a romantic storyline I think it was well written and there is some nice chemistry between Picard and that lieutenant. We also see a different side to him, which was nice to see.

I think in terms of underrated episodes, one for me would have to be Firstborn. When talking to fans where I live, they either seem to forget it or criticise it. Any thoughts about that and the other episode and fav characters I mentioned? Look forward to hearing you comments! :)

Loved 'Lessons', 'Tapestry', 'Inner Light', 'Yesterday's Enterprise' and 'Starship Mine.'
Lovely, lusty Picard stuff! Gets the blood flowing!

My favorite ST serie is a tie between DS9 & TNG. My favorite site is Memory Alpha (profile). I hang out at #memory-alpha. I find myself missing Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade once in a while. I wish I had a life of my own so I could stop thinking about Star Trek so much.

    Greetings,
I am 53 years old and have liked Star Trek since 1966. Here in America the series was well recieved and I have my favorites. But the best has got to be Next Generation. The writing suffered a bit at first but got alot better real quick. I am interested in the science of Star Trek. How the shows were made and the special effect production used. I also write Star Trek Novels. My latest is Star Trek"Wounds of War". You can read it at www.fanfiction.net/s/5744125/1/
I am also wanting to hear from other writers out there.

Hi all, I only recently started watching TNG, but was hooked pretty easily. The first series I saw was Voyager, but I am now a huge TNG fan as well. Trek is good.

I am completely devoted to Star Trek and Star Trek NG.
My Dad got me interested in Star Trek by showing me Elementary,Dear Data and now I spend my free time watching Star Trek. Resistance Is Futile:borg:
My friends(we are all band geeks and nerds) talk about Star Trek with our band teacher. He is a fellow Treklover and said that he might get the Star Trek NG Theme music for us

This is going to sound traitor-ish but if you couldn't tell from my name I'm a really big TOS person. I watched TNG at 10:00 at night after "fringe" (which I didn't watch) and when it discontinued I didn't watch it any more. And there have been some episodes I've never wanted to see I cant remember the names of the episodes though. they usually dealed with sexuality though. But I always liked it when Q would show up those were my favorite episodes. I realy liked the episode where Q beacme mortal that in my opinion was the best episode ever. I've never seen TNG movies though. But once more I'm a traitor and grewatly prefer TOS over any of the other series (mostly VOY,DS9,and ENT). And I really like TOS movies. But I also really liked some of the TNG episodes.(I'm fighting to keep my self afloat here and I'm drowning on this argument). But as Wayne from Wanye's World said: Ah yes, it's a lot like "Star Trek The Next Generation". In many ways it's supeiror but will never be as recoginzed as the original.

Hello! My name is Wesley and I grew up being obsessed with TNG. I fell in love with it after seeing "Peak Performance" on TV and followed it religiously after that. I watched DS9 up until the height of the Dominion War, but I stopped because I just felt that the war had cost Trek some of its magic.

I've been on this forum for a couple months now, but I don't think I've taken the time to introduce myself.
I am a relative newcomer to Trek. I didn't see my first episode of Trek until I was almost 16 years old (I'm 17 now), but I was immediately hooked upon watching it. That episode, if you are wondering, was Encounter at Farpoint. For the next seven months I rented all seven seasons of TNG off Netflix and I loved every single minute of it, except for Code of Honor which I despised.
My favorite episodes include The Inner Light, Family, Tapestry, Gambit, Preemptive Strike, and Darmok, among many other terrific episodes. It's so hard to pick favorites because there are so many magnificent episodes.
I love practically everything about TNG; the great stories, the morals, the cast, and the optimistic vision of the future. For these reasons and many others TNG is not only my favorite Trek show, but my favorite TV show of all time period.
Anyway, I just thought I would share my story with fellow fans who can appreciate it. I'm really glad to be here! :)
    Marty

Edit: One more thing I forgot to say. Picard > Kirk. ;)

Hello all. Brand new here but a big fan of TNG. I would have to say that my dad is responsible for getting me hooked. I can remember watching it with him and not having a clue what was going on. Oh, but I loved Data when I was young. I have recently began watching the series from the beginning and am right back where I was. I would have to say my favorite character is still Data, but for different reasons I would assume. I also really like Riker and Worf's relationship. It could be that I'm currently on Season 5, but I really enjoyed Darmok and I, Borg.

Hi, just joined up to the forum. I have been a fan of TNG since I was about 10, now 30. Soon to be 31. My fav characters are Crusher, Troi, Picard, Data, Riker and Worf. Well... I guess that's most of the cast lol. I also love Q and the Borg.

    Hi. Longtime luker here.

I've been a fan of TNG since the start. I had a passing interest in TOS before that but TNG was the one that really got me into the Star Trek universe, and now I get enjoyment out of all the shows. I've seen every episode of every live action series at least twice now.

10 years ago, I had the fortune of meeting Avery Brooks once coming out of a local supermarket; a chance encounter. Best day of my life (well it felt like it at the time anyway.)

    Hi everyone,
Alright, I am 15 years old, Next generation is my favourite series if them all. I love all the characters but Data would have to be my fav. I love how he is always trying harder to become more human and all the different parts of his character. I also love Worf, because I have a general fascination for Klingons. My favourite episode, ohh, thats a hard one, I love most of the episodes, preferring ones with Data. I especially like the ones with Lore in it. I also love Picard, he is just amazing.
I fell in love with star trek the first time I saw it, a Voyager episode, but TNG is my fav.

    Hi, Abigail, and welcome!

TNG is also my favorite series and it was my introduction to Star Trek itself. It'll always have a special place in my heart, even as, in time, I've come to appreciate the other series as well. Picard will always be my first captain and my favorite. I used to watch TNG each Sunday night when it first ran in my country, usually with my parents and grandparents. I'm grateful for all the wonderful things I learned from it.

I love Data as well, for his endearing fascination with his human crew mates, and for his often unintentional humor. He's at his funniest when he's not trying to be.

I hated Star Trek as a child, my dad watched it first run before I was born and then had to rewatch in syndication. The year before TNG came out, I got into TOS and remember thinking how could they make a remake without Kirk. How wrong I was. I finally got into it by mid season and there was no turning back. My favorite TNG character is Worf, I love everything Klingon. Show me a Klingon episode and I will watch it even though I have seen them all a thousand times.
(I will admit though that Enterprise is my favorite series in the franchise) But that does not take away from how much I love TNG. I watch everytime they are on tv and am in the process of changing the vcr tapes to dvds.
And I will go on record and say I actually like Wesley.
