2011 NFL Season - A New Game

Unfortuntely, the Denver game about as well as expected, so I'm not going to go much into it. The only issues I have is.....

~Why did we just kneel down at at half time? Our defense established that it probably won't (not won't, just probably won't) stop the Packers, and they're going to get the ball first in the second half. We have all three timeouts and the long ball was working on them. Why the hell don't we take some shots and try to level things out a little bit?

~The hell kind of "Tebow Package" was that? A single play at midfield where he tries to run it up the middle? If that's all the coach is going to do with him, then they shouldn't waste the down. When Tebow goes in, everyone prepares for the run, and there's no way that he's going to get anything going up the gut. The Tebow Package is a waste of energy and downs unless they build some variety into it. This was the same thing I said last year when McD was trying to do it- when Tebow goes in, the defense knows exactly what's coming.
Yeah, even the drunken Packers fans (and what was left of those still admitting to being Vikings fans) I was watching the game with knew what the play was going to be when they put in Tebow. Denver might want to try mixing that up a bit if they want to fool any defenses in the future.

As far as taking a knee before the half, I didn't understand that either. As a Packer fan I was glad to see it, but it made no sense. They had to know it was going to be a high scoring game, so why not send Brandon Lloyd (who had a great game, btw) deep and go for it?

Loved seeing the Vikings lose to Kansas City. All week long I kept hearing about how they needed to prevent losing the lead after the first half. Well, they didn't have to worry about it this time.

Megatron is a fucking beast.

Definitely a fun week's worth of games, and not just because the Bears won a game they were supposed to. Minnesota continues to be cursed, Grossmania runs wild all over St. Louis, and the Dream Team falls to the Niners?! At least it's not predictable...

How in the heck did the 49ers win that game? They were pretty much left for dead at Halftime, but after halftime, they finally opened it up and it was pretty cool. I think I credit this win to Jim Harbaugh, who I am impressed with every week. He made those adjustments (After the defense got chewed up by Vick and the long pass) and finally opened up the offense to go down field. Smith and Gore had awesome games too, but man it's so awesome to see the so-called "Dream Team" go down. Big win for the 49ers and they finally get to come home. Oh, and credit the Youngstown trip. Good decision to stay on the east coast and finally, the owners actually came in handy.

Good point, I hadn't thought about that.

Refreshing to see a Pats fan with a hooded one in their av...

Next year, when I expect to live far, far, away from the Boston area, I want to dress up as Belichick. Not too keen on the idea of slashing up a $75 sweatshirt. But hey why not.

As if his flameout in Tennessee wasn't enough, Vince Young's idiotic "dream team" moniker wants to make me punch him in the face every time it's mentioned.

I'll take the predominately orange jerseys. Would rather have the all orange jersey from before the design change.

Now if the Broncos could put something worthwhile on the field.....

That's still years away, I'm afraid.

Another week of the refs absolutely dumping on the jets...

Easier to blame the refs than the rotten OL?

Get to watch the Jets O vs. the Pats D next week. Oh boy.

Pats O vs. Jets D is the unstoppable force vs. the immovable object. Jets O vs. Pats D is like the blind leading the deaf.

In better news, the league has officially granted Denver's request to switch to the orange jerseys for their home uniforms. This makes me very happy- I love those jerseys!!

Old news.

I like the blue on blue look with the orange swoosh down the side.

^Hey, don't you put that evil on us! No matter how bad Denver's been, we have yet to look as bad as the Chiefs have! :-P

I wish the Colts player tonight a speedy recovery.... or as speedy of a recovery as one can have. That was a horrible looking injury to look at, both as it happened and with the aftermath.
