From the greatness of Drew Litton

Hey Smoothie, how about doing us a favor and making sure your team beats the snot out of the Jets? Thank you.

(For you Jets fans, it's not really about the Jets, it's about the aforementioned "fat, preening windbag.")

Not sure what I'll be able to do from my couch 30 miles away, but I'll try.

This guy is going to lose the team at some point if he continues his look at me antics and the players continue to struggle. When he opens his mouth, it paints a bullseye on the back of his players. He seems like a good coach with passion for the game, but he never met a camera he didn't like.

I presume the last batch of rings from Super Bowls XI, XV and XVIII were just dropped into the fires of Mount Doom, because otherwise you can't kill that which is already dead.

There are so many times where I hear the comments like "I can't wait till Davis Dies so the Raiders can be a well ran organization again". Heck, there were times when I made those comments myself. Now that it's actually happened, I'm shocked, and feel like a terrible person for believing that. It's like it just happened suddenly and where do we go from here. I don't deny Davis had a huge impact on the game and love him or hate him, admit it you will miss him.

Al Davis is dead.
A true American sports hero. Something fitting about Al, a great innovator in America's favorite sport, leaving us in the same week that Steve Jobs, another great American innovator in the nation's favorite technology company moves on.

Al Davis presented a new way of playing football to the NFL back in the 60's. He shook the league to it's core by daring to move his franchise against the league's wishes thereby opening the door for other owners to do the same. His efforts at attempting to sign star players hastened the AFL-NFL merger. He was the first owner to hire a black head coach, the first to hire a woman as CEO.

Who knows what the man's personal prejudices were, but if he thought something or someone could help him win, he would not hesitate to use it. No owner ever wanted to win more than Al. He was a living legend who may have had the biggest impact on the NFL and football than any other single individual.

Just rest, baby.

RIP, Davis. All joking aside, your contributions to the NFL will never be forgotten.

It will be interesting to see where the Raiders organization goes from here.

Like Steinbrenner, Davis was an institution unto himself and as "old school" as he could be.

Hopefully this was somewhat prepared for (ala the Yankees) and the team doesn't go into total chaos.

RIP.

Oh great, if not even Newton brings the numbers, my fantasy team is in real shit.

eta. lol dumbest timeout ever by Carolina?

Looks like Indy is gonna blow that huge lead. They suck so bad without Peyton.

Cam Newton is on fire.

Michael Vick is one of the most overpaid loser crybabies I have ever seen.
