But to think that there are children 5 and 6 years old around New England and beyond that have never experienced the joy of a Pats superbowl title is devastating. (The ones in some 3rd world pit wearing 2007 SB XLII Champs shirts don't count.)
At age 5 you can't even begin to appreciate something like that. I was 13 when "my" club won its first championship of my conscious lifetime, and in hindsight I didn't grasp the significance of that until they failed to repeat that success for many years after that.
I think you have to suffer as a fan for at least a decade (and the longer the better) to make a championship really worth it.


I hated Philadelphia even before Vick since I saw their fans clapping and cheering when Michael Irvin (admittedly not the greatest of guys) was laid out on the field with what looked to be a potentially paralyzing injury--and I sure don't like them any better now. So, they're in last place in their division? Didn't Philly's kicker last year leave for the 49ers in free agency?
