I have that knife also. It was an anniversary present from friends of ours who love to cook. I use the knife all the time--very handy, very easy to use. They gave us the 7" and the paring knife. I love them.

I just bought a book on one of my favorite architects William Pereria. I've gotten the book on Inter-Library Loan before, but for some reason I'm only just now buying it.

Trust me, it'll wear off. Soon you'll have divorce layers on speed dial.

You know when you want to download something from the web, like a zip file, or a torrent and it shoves a few thousand pay apps in your face that never work? And then your arse clams up and you get this strange feeling in your stomach? You just want to scream but nobody hears ya? Like you're locked away in a dark room with nobody to help ya? And then on top of it all there is this dripping tap in the room that drives you insane? Yeah? That's what it feels like after a month.

Bying an iphone and an ipad are the two biggest mistakes i made regarding technology. I got rid of the ipad but i still have a subscription for the iphone.

^ What happened that made your iPad and iPhones so terrible to have?

Ever been to a library and used their computers? You cant even enter my computer to load a usb drive. Its so limited you'd think you were using a bloody calculator instead of a computer.

Now thats an ios device in a nutshell. Sure if you jailbreak it, they're lovely. But if something goes tits up and you upgrade by mistake youre back to square one until the resident hacker outdoes apple again.

So... your iPhone and iPad issues aren't with the iPhone and iPads themselves, but with your personal computer?

(Sorry -- just trying to understand the problem...)

The iPads I've used have been incredibly user-friendly; my iPhone is probably the best phone I've ever had and apart from one niggling, and somewhat minor but altogether irritating issue (Google Voice freezing), it has functioned in superior fashion to every other phone I've used before.

Not planning on any heavy duty work. Can't envision a scenario where I need it to open a zip file or torrent, that's what my desktop and laptop are for.

Got me a pair of Clarks Desert Boots, in leather instead of suede. I wanted a pair of mid-seaosn shoes that are comfortable and a classic.

I also got a Merino wool sweater in light grey, crew neck, from Gap.

    Nice!

Wool? ARGH. I don't know when I'll next be able to wear a sweater. It's still over 100 F here. *grumble*

I like to make cupcakes and decorate them with funny faces, coffins, ghosts, etc. I also to make orange or root beer floats, and decorate the straws with ghostie Peeps. Stuff like that. But I never have anyone to share them with, so most of it ends up with the neighbors. I'm hoping to actually have people over this Halloween weekend, so I can just go crazy (ier) with it.

I know how you feel. I want to make Halloween treats but I have no reason to. I saw some really cute cupcake holders that look like spider legs so you can make spider cupcakes.
